Lot of threads about things that shouldn’t be changed/removed, but how about for things that NEED to go?
Personally I’ve always been grossed out by a specific item, “Brazie’s Black Book of Secrets”, which is essentially a pick up artist’s guide to the ladies of Azeroth. I’m sure there are dudebros here that will try to defend it, but it’s the current year and it’s just creepy that something like this exists in any capacity within the World of Warcraft.
The item contains several books filled with some really toxic takes (“human girls have been the downfall of countless heroes throughout the ages” - really? sounds like something an you-know-what would write), as well as “dating” advice that is just as off putting as actual pick up artists and the bullcrap they spout. Much of it just seems belittling and creepy in the name of a “Joke” at the expense of women that, AFAIK, nobody has laughed at in over a decade.
In my opinion, this thing needed to go a long time ago, and I hope with the recent changes being put forth by the devs (good work all around, must say), it too may be removed or changed for the betterment of the game.
If anyone else has gripes with certain things in-game, this is the thread to voice it. Hopefully it grabs the attention of the right people.
Figured it would be easier to get proper attention to the issues myself and others have on the official forums since reddit is being flooded currently, kinda shocked people would try to gatekeep general discussion but here we are…
They already removed the thread requesting removal of Madeleine Roux’s NPC. No need to know more about Blizzard’s official stance on bullying – it’s fine as long as you’re in a position of power. Thanks! Makes the unsub question an easy one.

I honestly recommend that anyone who is offended by these things take a moment to reflect on their ability to separate fantasy from reality. Fantasy is where things happen that should not or could not occur in the real world.
Warcraft is a fantasy game - if you’re taking it seriously then you’re playing the game WRONG.
I wasn’t playing yet during WotLK and I’d entirely missed the existence of this item. I checked out the contents of all of the volumes, and then wondered if your post was satire and/or a troll. I re-read your post and decided it’s not.
Some of it is unkind. (The corners of the book on how to pick up gnomish girls have barely been bent, i.e. no one wants to read about how to pick up gnomish girls.) (The single piece of advice on how to pick up a dwarven woman is “ask her to buy you a drink” i.e. no one wants a dwarven woman and she’ll be happy to go with you for the asking.) Unkind, tasteless… but kind of funny, maybe? Maybe not too patently offensive considering that dwarves and gnomes don’t actually exist?
The rest of it is actually somewhat wholesome, a pep-talk to males on being attractive to females. A lot of it is actually good advice.
This is the sort of content I DON’T want purged out of WoW because some creeps who worked at Blizzard did real-life creeping on others who worked at Blizzard.
Meeting and mating the opposite sex is a huge focal part of the human experience. Why should anything having to do with this be purged from WoW? Especially when it’s at worst kinda funny/not hurtful (remember, dwarves and gnomes DON’T EXIST) and maybe even kinda helpful?

Well yeah. One of my first books to learn Japanese was called Making out in Japanese. A book written for foreigners to learn basic japanese. Alot of its content being ice breaking pick up lines lol…But also a good soruce to learn more useful common Japanese as well.
It offered a more natural flow. As opposed to more traditional learning. You see…My aunt is in the garden in perfectly spoken business level appropriate Japanese is not a good icebreaker. Great for teaching structure. Not for getting that smile.
Also Japanese can have different pickup lines.

You see person depending they may be more traditional in beliefs. Ancestor worship and such. So…a pick up line about being an angel could go high and to the right and over their head.
How about removing all the devs and getting new ones. In my opinion, they have been getting steadily worse since MoP, so lets replace every single one of the current devs with devs from outside the company.
Just make them actually play they game like we do.
No dev tools. No okay…I could tool/console the 250 gear… but you know what. I will take my fresh 60 alt into pvp and get my uber pvp gear worked on 1 piece at a time, no carries in pugs and no jsut spawning it in with dev tools/console commands.
2 hours later…the devs would be going omfg we did hose this up pretty good didn’t we.
