Developers did not think of this kind of thing back in the 90’s or even early 2000’s at all…
It just was not considered; the video game market before WoW was really niche for PC gaming.
It was not even something on the list for systems like NES, because with those you could simply adjust your TV.
That’s the sort of thing that only really big companies would do, and even then the % of players that really needs that sort of support for their game experience to be functional is very very small…
That’s actually one of the cool things about Blizzard is that they really do think about all the little things…
Even if I really enjoy trashing on them… I do it because I actually care, not because they’re truly a bad company, but because they seriously need to improve their reputation and the only way that can happen is if they get pressure from both the outside and inside.
