by that logic, I could sell you a microwave with a tag on it that says no refunds. It could break in the first 2 seconds of use. Just because the tag said “no refunds” doesn’t mean you don’t have to provide a refund.
Hmm do Australian consumer laws overrule Blizzard refund Policy.? As far I know once boost is used it can’t be refunded
Yes, laws overrule company policy…
Boosts on retail were refunded before. Either EU law or an issue.
But when blizzard gave the refund, they locked the character out from being played until they rebought the boost for that character.
They won’t give money back and allow you to keep what you purchased.
P.S.
If you buy the boost a second time on the same character, you can’t refund it. As you know what you are 100% getting the 2nd time and can’t say “I didn’t know what I was getting” like in the Australian law she posted.
Of course, no one would expect a refund but retain access to the service they had refunded.
You would think that is obvious. But if OP boosted just to farm gear. She/He may still want to play that character. So they need to know what happens if they get a refund.
they have no choice under Australian law, what they’ve done entitles people to a refund if they want it
So 3/5 definitely qualifies for a refund
They do override it
Nope the character becomes locked and you have to buy a boost to use it again.
Interesting. Although that kind of sucks if you had leveled the character a good bit and then decided to boost the last bit.
Thanks for the information.
edit for typo’s. fix some add new ones for balance
They will lock out the boosted character until you repay. I’ve done it before on retail and I live in the states with less strick consumer laws.
ITT: Idiots likely from a particular country that do not realize that other countries have much better consumer protection laws
My fellow Americans, not all countries are run by corporations like ours is. In many countries, the government actually sides with consumers.
Edit: consumers = citizens. Many countries value individuals for their own sake and not just their ability to buy products.
Imagine thinking a video game company policy overrules government law.
So what happens when they refund the boost? Does the character get deleted?
I really hate how these wannabe PvP “hand me gear” players are starting to represent the PvP community… anyone who gets a boost refunded honestly deserves permanent account closure. This is a 15 year old game. PvP works as it has always worked. And trying to snake your way into your money because you can’t have free, easy pixels is just stupid.
Technically they advertised boost also giving dungeon level blues while the boost button was available. That is plenty for a refund if you are seeking one.
Uhm… I don’t know if you know this, but there’s a couple flaws in your theory.
First being: As far as you have a subscription and can experience the game at lvl 1, you can get a good notion of what you’re getting into. They also offer class tests for that matter.
2, PvP is one aspect of the game and not necessarily the main one. Blizzard can and will balance the patches as they please, that’s under their law. Consumer law cannot override the company’s law if the company well-stated everything beforehand.
Now i’m not exactly graduated in law, but i’d guess it’s gonna be hard to get the refund, provided you do.
What possesses you to defend something nearly nameless, has no face, and doesn’t care about you in any single little way? Is it a sense of morality that this thread is endangering? Yours sucks then, mans wants a refund for BAD SERVICE. LIVE BAD SERVICE.
