Many think they are saving lots of gold with PF.
In fact, all they save is the 250g for basic flight (and if you want to avail yourself of “free flight” you have to wait till your alt is 70.) If you just cough up 250g you can fly at 60.
Then there is the “fictitious cost of the flight license” they think they are saving, when in fact, the cost of flight licenses traditionally was earned just by leveling.
PF does require a huge time investment and a list of chores many players would not do but for PF. I like questing, for instance, but I may not complete every single quest in the expansion on one toon. I usually leave content for my alts. I don’t raid anymore and LFR is a good tool for tourists. But raiding and flight are mutually exclusive. PvP? I like PvP on my own terms. Rep grinding? I only ever grind rep because a faction has something I’m interested in.
WoW is now World of Pathfinder. PF IS the entire game now. Time gates on rails . Eff that.
