Reduced dragon riding speed in old world content

Not at all.

i’m doing just fine, thanks.

so do you understand now that a bunch of small unnecessary changes to the game will add up to become a significant amount of developer time and resources?

But we weren’t talking about other changes, were we? You most certainly weren’t in your original post. I was talking about this one. I could list a million small and pointless changes just in this expansion alone, and not all of them good. Saying that the dragonriding “nerf” is an issue at all is laughable at best.

maybe you shouldn’t have to fly at all. it’s trivial content, so we should just be able to open our map and click to teleport anywhere.

exactly, thank you so much for confirming this point for me.

now i have another question for you:

which of the two following scenarios would be more impactful to your enjoyment of the game?

  1. Changing dragon riding speed in the old world so that it feels authentic to the experience in the dragon isles

OR

  1. Properly balancing the classes so that every class performed similarly to one another - thus people could feel comfortable playing any class they enjoy without worrying they are holding back their team

It has nothing to do with the content. Did you even read the blue post?

If you are expecting proper class balance this many years in when they’ve sucked at it from the start, you are always going to be disappointed.

you didn’t answer my question… which of the two would be more impactful to increase the average player’s enjoyment of the game?

Good lord. He went from complaining about dragonriding that he doesn’t even like and tried to remove from content, to now “class balance” to troll with???

This thread really needs to die.

They keep moving the goal post. I think I’m done humoring them. Heck, they wouldn’t even be fun to toy with.

i just asked a simple question.

if you had to choose between developers spending their time nerfing flying or fixing class balance, which would you choose?

We’re done. Have a good day.

that’s exactly what i figured… thank you very much…

please have a lovely day.

i can guarantee that literally no one would answer “nerfing flight speeds” instead of “fixing class balance.”

Using hyperbole isn’t very effective… I can do it in the opposite fashion: Why have mounts at all? Wouldn’t it be more immersive to have us RP walk everywhere?

Hyperbole in either direction is only helpful to illustrate the point you’re making. Not to actually make the point. The question is regular dragon riding vs nerfed dragon riding, and the reason given to nerf is to not make the world feel small. Firstly… there’s no game reason to worry about this as it’s trivial content. Secondly… we already know how small the world is… artificially hamstringing us isn’t as good of a smokescreen as you’re making it out to be…

All it feels like… is worse dragon riding. And why? Reasons.

To those saying that this isn’t a big deal… that cuts both ways. If it isn’t a big deal… why not just make it full speed then? After all… it isn’t a big deal.

Yeah exactly.

These are the type of things blizzard needs to be more transparent on. 99% sure there’s some technical hurdle they haven’t been able to solve but my cynical 1% thinks they just like to dump on our fun,

15% reduction seems fine, there are larger things that could be worried about instead of this.

No, I’m not here to be grateful that blizzard developers spent time and resources to reduce dragon riding speeds instead of fixing class balancing problems.

It takes 6 minutes to fly from north to south, coast to coast on Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms. 15% loss what? A minute?

It’s not particularly noticable. Outside of Kalimendor and Eastern Kingdoms all the zones are smaller than dragon isles so travel time across the zones will be the same or faster. I do feel like it could be adjusted per zone. So no reduction in those continents. 15% reduction in outland. 10% in northrend. 10% in pandaria. 10% in Draenor. 10% in Broken Isles. 15% in Zuldazar and Kul Tiras. 15% in Shadowlands zones.
