Reduced dragon riding speed in old world content

I don’t understand what the issue is that some players like yourself seem to have. It’s still really fast.

It sure seems like it as of late.

my issue can be summarized by this poster:

like the fact that blizzard devs spend their time sitting around figuring out ways to nerf flying instead of fixing other issues (such as class balancing) which would be much more impactful to the enjoyment of playing the game.

like idk about you but it never even came across my mind that dragon riding in the old world would “feel bad because it’s going so fast that it makes the old world feel smaller than the dragon isles.”

like who even thinks of issues like this? why would this be something that blizzard spends time and resources on?

please go back and fix the class balancing problems that the december 19th “balancing” created.

or how about this? Instead of nerfing flying speeds, blizzard spent time to decide how to best implement the legendary axe acquisition instead of making it exactly like the evoker legendary (which received nothing but negative feedback and players were adamant about the fact that the evoker legendary acquisition felt really bad). But, for some reason, the axe legendary acquisition is exactly the same - pray for an RNG drop - hope to get it before the season ends - if you don’t get lucky then oh well, try again next legendary?

the issue with this flying speed nerf is that it is just another example of blizzard changing something that doesn’t need to be fixed while neglecting to fix things that do need to be fixed.

before everyone says “oh flying speed nerf is so easy and fast to do, there is no way it took any time away from class balancing.” you may be right, that’s possible… but when you add this to the plethora of other “small changes” that fixed nothing, the time begins to become very significant.

Not sure if this has been mentioned, I can’t bother honestly to read 329 comments, but while exploring and unlocking zones in Outland yesterday, I was having trouble getting a few of the microzones (or whatever they are called) to recognize that I was in them to unlock them, because I was passing through so quickly. Had to circle back several times to get full clearance.

Perhaps this is the underlying struggle that is happening, and the veneer is simply the “it’s trivializing zone size” commentary. Because some of those Outland zones, they are IMO bigger than the dragon isles zones. At least it took me a LOT longer to cross them on my dragon (more than 15% more time haha). And Northrend is the same way.

This whole dragonriding “issue” is one huge nothingburger.

Actually, it is.

It def is lol. You look ridiculous.

you know what, you are 100% correct. sorry i didn’t see that before.

the speed of a dragon riding mount being reduced by 15% is a “nothingburger.” So why did blizzard sit down and spend time and resources to change something that doesn’t matter?

You answered your own question. It doesn’t really matter.

exactly, it doesn’t matter at all, right? so why did blizzard waste time and money to change it?

To make you cry.

They went out of their way to explain the change weeks ago.

but you just said yourself that the change is meaningless… so why did blizzard waste all their time and resources on implementing this change?

In the grand scheme of things, it is. And they explained why. As I said already. I highly doubt it ate up a lot of time and resources. All they did was change a few numbers.

When you buy the company and write their paychecks, you can tell them where to put their time and energy, since you obviously know the inner workings, how things are delegated and budgeted.

Yes it does. And anyone that doesn’t agree with your narrow-minded point of view is “whining”. And your “end of discussion” comment, getting vibes you’re a wife-beater.

So, if you don’t like what I have to say, then deal with it or block me. Later.

so you agree that the change is meaningless, correct?

well as i said previously, when you add up all the little changes that weren’t necessary, it begins to become a significant amount of time.

Look at this dude’s information processing. Think he could own something like that?

You keep posting this like you’re a broken record. Are you okay?
