I think by that they meant that the coalescence kinda has to actually be collected by you, as opposed to most of the other weekly requirements which can be met by just being in the area while other players do everything.

The plant seeds weekly quest only required 3 when I picked it up on an alt, and it did give a 480 item along with a 463 item.

That sounds bugged. Why does Soup, Siege, Time Rift, other weeklies give Awakened rewards on their weeks but not Emerald Dream?
Any coalescence you collect in Valdrakken does not count, despite it being inside of Thaldraszus.
Also its a weekly. do 2 WQs a day and you’re done by next week
It requires 5 for me, and 3 on my alts? Odd. I just flew back there from Superbloom to check. Was 5 on my main.
I was at world boss when I planted the 5th.
Yeah, I dunno if they hotfixed it or what, but it was five earlier and now it’s three.

The Dreaming Growth that pops up in the Emerald Enclave, right next to the Emerald Dream Portal, does give credit.

I just go to Tyrhold and kill stuff until rares spawn, plus the first invasion.
