I’ve failed more keys after these nerfs - its amazing the difference in my mage - why didnt they test these nerfs on the PTR before implimenting them - it really ruins the wow experience to do so poorly after performing so well
Im a 621 fire mage. We were promised a 3% nerf but in reality it 7% nerf. I used to clear 8s and 9s and get invited to mythic but now i cant get into a good m+ group. Fire mage dps isnt considered for +7s now and anything above. Im lower than a 618 hunter by 200k-300k dps. I cant play the game anymore. Why cant fire get buffed 3% damage and not the full 7%.
Agreed!! I am a 625 fire mage, 2200 rating, and people are hesitant in inviting us to groups. I’m really tired of ALL the criteria that must be met in order for us to do “good” damage. I noticed yesterday when pushing higher keys (and I pug everything), some pugs are more cautious and pull smaller groups, which is a problem for me. Anything less than 5 adds usually means I’m lower in dps than most… DH, tank, melee just destroy the 3 adds. And ST is complete garbage. I was doing heroic queen yesterday and raid leader says “hey, you are doing all the mechanics great, popping the bubble, aoe’ing the webs, HOWEVER, your dps is crap”. Really not sure what Blizzard is doing with this class. They have spent months buffing the aoe side of our tree, basically forcing us to one tree and one tree only; AND looking at the newest PTR patch, they are continuing buffing lit fuse/LB And the recent 3% nerf??? WHY? My “strongest” spell, pyroblast, is now the weakest, hits for 140K (no combust) lol. Soon, my conjuring refreshment table will do more damage
Started out playing Frost before TWW came out, but learned Arcane at the start of the expansion—and I was so happy to switch away from a clunky, awkward rotation. Arcane just felt good—actually fun to play. But since the nerfs and constant rotation changes, I’m feeling super burnt out. Arcane just doesn’t feel strong anymore, and getting into keys is rough when other classes are blowing us out of the water in DPS.
Honestly, I don’t have it in me to learn another class right now. Just wish Arcane could feel strong again. Blizzard’s been too quick to nerf anything that seems strong based on community chatter without actually testing it properly themselves.
Agree with that analysis
There are like 5 frost mages above 2400 in PVP, I would rethink your statement.
This is a PvE thing and mostly regarding the hard arcane nerfs which unintentionally nerfed frost in PvE. Most people who play WoW only really care about the PvE aspect since PvP balance is a lost cause with so many classes and specs. Frost mages have always dominated in PvP since vanilla, that’s not going to change any time soon simply because of how the core mechanics of a frost mage has always been. We were rendered completely useless in PvE during the entirety of The Burning Crusade expansion yet frost mages even hitting like wet noodles proved to be a key class to winning Arenas due to our hard crowd control mechanics. This has nothing to do with the PvE aspects we are complaining about since we hardly ever use any crowd control during PvE scenarios.
I played frost mage then anyway, but I never went much further than tier 4 content.
Huh? The shaman, Hunter, DH and Paladin are hard counters to mages. Seeing as the most played classes in PvP this exp are shaman and hunter making up 48% of the most played classes, mages don’t stand a chance. The frost mage is bottom tier trash in PvP this expansion. The mages in general are just being thrown away.
Every class has a get out of jail free card now, some have multiple. Frost in PvP just isn’t as dominate as it use to be, sadly. Really all it was good for.
