Reception on survival hunters?

I’m female, but I’m also a goblin and he is an elf, which is to say that I’d most likely win that contest too :upside_down_face:

Ah, but my hunter is an orc.

No, I’ve used it to demonstrate that you literally spend more time on the forums than you do in-game, not to demonstrate that it literally indicates quality of opinion.
There’s a certain chemical response people get from things they enjoy; video games or “debates” on the internet, and I’m simply observing that you appear to enjoy arguing about the game more than you enjoy playing it.

Ya, like I said, you spend time afk in town.

You can’t relist auctions or talk to your friends around the vulpera campfires while you’re afk. I think the concept of actually enjoying World of Warcraft even in your downtime from “serious” content is simply lost on you.

Funny thing is you’re actually from my old server, some people in trade chat might still remember me as Leitka or Leica respectively. Ask around.
The guild was [Censored], formerly [Flying Karate Jesus]

Let’s just say there’s a very apparent self-amusement difference between the demographics that find themselves hanging around an RP server with a stable community, and the sort of folks who log off immediately after raid night on their CRZ-infested regular realms.
I know because the dissolving feeling of “community” that I felt on Thrall between Cata/MoP and Legion was part and parcel to why I left it.

Maybe your played time would be higher if you enjoyed your server community enough to be engaged outside of content consumption. It’s certainly the real secret of mine, not “being afk.”

Being a Newcomer guide is pretty fulfilling right now, I recommend it.

First, that’s straight false, and you know it, at least over the longer term (I certainly have over the last couple months, but that’s because I, like many people, basically haven’t been playing at all while I wait for SL to get around to releasing). Second, how is that relevant?

I enjoy debates, that’s certainly the case. I also enjoy the playing the game. You don’t know enough about the situation to have the faintest hope of hazarding a guess about which I enjoy more.

And once again, how is it relevant?

Doubtful, especially if it were made up of people like you.

Are you two going to kiss or continue to be teases? :couplekiss_man_woman:

It looks pretty true to me. You have less played time over 15 years than I do on toons I played for a single expansion.

Admittedly, that’s because I certainly do have more free time than most people; I’m a photographer engaged in work centered around long-term “portraits” of my region and how culture and ecology have and are changing it over time. Instead of having a chunk of hours every single day where I’m at work browsing forums, I have chunks of days where I’m driving around shooting instead. There’s a lot more room to have degenerate gaming spree days that way.

I enjoy debates, that’s certainly the case. I also enjoy the playing the game. You don’t know enough about the situation to have the faintest hope of hazarding a guess about which I enjoy more.
And once again, how is it relevant?

“Enjoying” debates is typically a red flag. I know this because I too enjoy debates and it’s my worst personality trait. A certain level of pathological narcissism is necessary for that trait to exist.

Real recognize real, fake recognize fake.

Doubtful, especially if it were made up of people like you.

Ah, to be young and angsty again

Not on the first date…or second…or, crap, how many is this now Scabbers?

It amuses me that you think this is a necessary trait to enjoy lively debate. It is, however, also quite telling. And it explains much about your behavior.

The difference between you and I is related to humor and self-awareness, my guy. We’re both narcissists that like to hear ourselves speak more than we are public intellectuals.

Don’t delude yourself.

Or maybe, just maybe, it’s just projection.

I’m sure the other guy was just projecting too with his (quite accurate) observations about the both of us.

I could write a treatise on the behavioral norms of WoW forum regulars at this point, you’re not as unique as you think you are. “Posting from work” with a relatively low /played time is exceptionally normal on here and has been since at least Wrath (when I first became an active forum dweller)

Folks who frequent the arena or BG forums are no strangers to the phenomenon. Post counts well into the thousands are not the mark of pride some think them to be but are rather a warning to others about “forum regular” pathologies.

It’s not even unique to this site (ever seen the MMO-Champion forums?) or to gaming (ever used social media?)

That’s just your narcissism talking.

The fact that you’re aware of this trait you have and yet aren’t aware of how it is clearly affecting your ability to perceive things is both fascinating and hilarious.

The moral is somewhere between Wingclipt and Bepples. Haha.

It’s funny how much fans of “debate” on the internet throw around the word “projection” while failing to grasp that a projection must have a surface upon which to be cast.

Real recognize real, again. The gap is in self-awareness.

If that’s what makes it easier for you to sleep at night, I guess more power to you. Projection involves attributing traits that the target often entirely lacks, simply to shift the blame and feelings of insecurity. It’s also, incidentally, a primary symptom of narcissistic personality disorder, which you self-admittedly have.

Your insistence that such projections are real is just that very same psychological defense mechanism at work, convincing you that you’re not alone, and that those traits you hate about yourself are in fact the faults of others instead. This isn’t self-awareness. It’s self-delusion by defense mechanism.

Anyone engaged in the broader mannerisms of humanity in the year 2020 has at least some latent level of narcissistic behavior.

Accusing someone of projection is not a silver bullet, least of all when they’re not the only one picking up on your pathological behavior.

Anyone that’s actually studied psychology to any degree can tell you that projection is not a disorder that “some” people are saddled with; it’s baseline human behavior that we all participate in to varying degrees, particularly when more (physically or conceptually) divorced from the other party. It’s a process of filling in the blanks using your own subconcious.

A person who thinks themselves innocent of projection when “p-p-projection!” is their strongest retort is nothing more than a person reflexively using a buzzword they’ve exercised no academic diligence in researching the meaning of.

Hunter has it all for dps in my opinion

Ranged sniper in bgs? Go marksman
Pvp as a melee, great at open world pve? Go survival
Need a brain dead dps spec for raids and mythics something you can turn your brain off for and still top dps charts? Go BM

And I’m really not trying to harp on BM in raiding especially, for me the easyer the better since the fights are long.

Like X said in the beginning people hate surivial or love it. I guess I’m somewhere in between since I loved it in bfa and liked the fact it went melee, but at the same time the lack of changes to keep things fresh in shadowlands and the refurbished Azerite traits as legendaries suck. It’s fun to play tho especially in pvp.

And then they replaced it with, in terms of surrounding interactions / playflow, a worse version. Hrmm…

Why do Survival Hunters think this is some huge hidden strength of the spec? Every spec is good at open world PVE because it’s literally the most easy content you can get outside of literal Goldshire RP. Besides, BM is far better if you’re interested in levelling/grinding large amounts of mobs quickly.

Imagine getting this steaming mad that someone said surv is enjoyable in open world pve and pvp (the two of which frequently overlap if you’re not a carebear with warmode off on a backwater server)

Such angst, years divorced from the initial wound. Only therapy could help at this point.

Surv is actually great with a huge amount of mobs, btw, especially now that the pre-patch is live. I think you might be underestimating the synergy of carve and uncapped bombs, ironically, rooted in your lack of actual experience with the spec in any avenue outside of talking about it angrily.

Tactically pulling a ton of mobs to leech heals off of is a bonified survival WPVP tactic for a reason.
