Recently back, no Master Loot, THANK YOU!

I think I’ve had issues with ML once and it caused the guild to collapse. Out of like… ten guilds and countless runs, including PuGs.

Classic Andy :joy:

Master loot is bad for multiple reasons. That is why Blizzard removed it. That is all the explaining I need to do. I happen to agree with their decision for once.

or, make it an option that way people who dont like it can choose a guild with PL enabled and those of us who like it can have it. Problem solved.

“It’s bad because reasons. No I won’t explain why. Anything Blizzard does is good!”

Yeah, okay. How do you feel about Blizzard’s unpruning?

No citation needed. How many guilds are still in existence since 2004? A handful?

Most guilds never did much and then went away. The idea that most guilds have been well-run clashes with the fact that so many guilds died in BfA.

Perhaps you’re imagining that most guilds have been well-run elite raiding guilds. LOL.

I’d be okay with master loot returned, as long as pugs got PL, even when they pug into a guild group.

*pugs into a guild heroic run with masterloot. doesnt ask about loot rules. Sees the ML giving all loot to their guild, quits the game for an expansion

Lmao the entitlement of some players blows my mind

What on earth…

Way more than you think, but keep in mind this is fifteen years. So many things can happen in that time.

Citation absolutely needed, as there’s no way you can just flat out say that ML abuse was the sole reason Blizzard removed it, guilds die, and a significant problem - especially when people who actually did content with it (and I’m doing it right now) are telling you that you’re wrong.

Also, guilds still get made and die today with no ML. Why do you think that is?

Nobody is asking for the original ML. We’re fine with Legion, or virtually everyone being in the guild to even enable ML.

Is told by the GM that if he pugs in he will be considered for gear. The item he needs drops, and it goes to someone for whom it is a tiny upgrade. The GM starts a thread whining about how pugs should be happy they are permitted to raid at all, and how they never actually give gear to pugs.

You do realize that if it drops, that doesn’t guarantee he gets it? Especially if it’s a roll off.

Ill let you in on a lil secret. Never pug into a guild group and expect loot if its on ML.
Regardless of what they tell you.

Doesnt matter now tho right!

And one of the things that “has happened” is that most guilds are small, casual guilds run by people with no management skills. They and their buddies run it into the ground and then no one will join.

The idea that most guilds are long-standing progression guilds is false. Such guilds are the minority.

What everybody is asking for is the ability to compel someone to give their personal loot upgrade to someone else.

Hold right up, do you believe the pug deserves more than the guild raider? It might be a tiny upgrade for the guild raider, but he’s still equally as entitled to roll on it as the pug.

Most of these guilds also use PL, and did in Legion.

I guess the people who want to get rid of pathfinder and make flight purchasable at max level again just want it so they can grief people in WM?

that and they need to hide what people get so angry casuals stop making all of the rantey posts here about how some big meanie wouldn’t give over their loot.

funny, how the anti ml crowd sure does get bent when someone won’t give them their personal loot.

LOL. The loot council gives the gear to the player they want to have it. We saw lots of threads back when master loot was a thing by GM’s who would tell pugs they had a chance at gear but never actually got it because the guild needed it to go to their own members.

We’d also see threads all the time complaining that they’re not getting loot they feel they’re entitled to, so what’s your point?

The best raiding tier I ever experienced was Antorus. This was because I was in a guild that used personal loot. No BS. No seeing the item that dropped be given to the person that was friends with the raid leader. No High School like clique drama in regards to the loot distribution.

Just killing monsters and it either drops or it doesn’t.

Simple, easy, clean, and smooth.

Yep. When people were told they have a chance at loot they feel they’re entitled to it. When they realize they never had a chance at loot at all and the guild was just exploiting them, gee, what’s wrong with people who don’t want to work for you for the glory of sharing your pixels?
