Reasons to not play these classes

Druid healers are in raids to give priests Innervate, and spam rank 4 Healing Touch.

Succubus is one of the most broken things in the game. Warrior was the only real counter to a warlock, undead rogue as well. You could just nuke people down and seduce lock them.

Again, you had to have the right pet out. Succubus was great in PVP but it only was good in a 1v1. In a battleground she didn’t do enough to prevent you from getting stomped. Not to mention she died very easily and a smart player would take her down quickly.

Not to mention that if you were out on a PVP server you would sacrifice quite a bit of utility having her out instead of a good tanking pet like the voidwalker or a pure dps pet like the imp. So you mostly only used the succubus when you thought you might pvp. Very situational.

The best reason to not pick those classes.

They aren’t a hunter. Hunter is the only real class, every other class is just there to support the hunter.

warrior : most most people are going to quit when they realize how hard it is to lvl .
mage: meh, most people will lvl a mage. no negatives other than pulling more than one trash mob (not really XD)

rogue: to much competition

Every Tom, Dick, and Harry will be playing one.

They have the worst 1-20, and arguably 1-40 experience by far (the roughly 20-40 part you don’t suck, you’re just boring via nothing on demand)

You need a baby sitter in pvp to not suck.

You’re really great dependent and your pvp gear and pve gear don’t overlap weapon wise. Ditto your pve and pvp specs

You suck in zerg pvp

Making water for everyone

Your execute spell sucks compared to shadow burn

You don’t have life tap

You don’t have a succubus

Your cc heals things

Your leveling is arguably the worst in the game from an enjoyment perspective

Extremely cool down reliant

You are really slow in stealth

You drop all cp when you swap targets in vanilla

You aren’t going to even 1v1 anyone who doesn’t suck, let alone 1vX

You depend on rng more than most classes

Other classes have a baseline and then are rewarded for good rolls (crits)… Rogues are the opposite… Their normal is criticals, and then they are PUNISHED for poor rolls. (dagger builds and debatable as either a perk or negative)

Quite possibly the single least reliable execute /finisher spell in the game in eviscerate… Dodge /block/miss /parry it feels like 4x as much as any other attack

Except for blind that is… Your life saving “Trump card” ability… That can be dodged, blocked, parried, missed, AND Resisted, AND IMMUNED. You also won’t have spell hit. Oh and it costs a relatively expensive reagent.

Basically Rogue’s like having engineering things backfiring constantly, and when it does, you die… When it all goes well you can MAYBE 1v1 some one of equal gear, after blowing 10 min wish of cds, but you’re absolutely useless again until they’re all back.

Dont you know? Mages these days charge flat rates for 3 stacks of food or water.

What a time to be alive. Three stacks of level 55 water is 1g. Probably kept getting ripped off so that become the norm.

Zero reason not too.

They out dps the competition.

Warrior - Needs heals while leveling, will be coerced, cajoled, threatened and blackmailed into tanking at 60, very gear dependant, compete with every other warrior for gear (and lose rolls to hunters and ret paladins)

Mage - High skill cap, be a vending machine who is still drinking after conjuring while the rest of the raid/party is pulling mobs; subsequently get yelled at for not contributing.

Rogue - Level up on green mobs, two extra profs to level (1 of which requires a fortune in water breathing potions), never get credit for pvp plays because everyone will say you’re playing a crutch class, getting pegged on the regular IRL.

And that is one of the reasons i’m going warlock. Very little competition on tier gear. Amazing looking tier sets, tons of class quests, free mount at 40, amazing looking epic mount, super easy to level, amazing crafted sets in the 40’s and 50’s, with SM/Ruin i can do great in raids and PVP.

So true. Needs to be repeated a lot.

Rogue thru MoP and WoD was one of my favorite class designs, so a part of me wanted to have one as my alt in Classic… but for all the reasons listed above, I know I won’t really get into it. I’ll be Warlock/Priest

Yep… that’s literally pretty much it.

I laughed because that was my experience, even though I was an officer and willing to tank whenever I was in game.

It was a balance of tanking something and someone being pissed I wasn’t available to tank for them right now. Okay…

Well Wrath of Air doesn’t exist in 1.12 so what are you going to drop?

Tranquil Air, obviously, because those who don’t beg well enough can’t be trusted to manage their own threat.

A reason? You don’t want to.

If people learned from the Nurfed video, they would have noticed that warrior was broken once you got original bloodthirst. Your first attack after a kill would do 100% more damage and rage + a chance to crit for upwards of 4x rage on the first hit + charge = target dead in short order. New bloodthirst isn’t even necessary in the first place as you had slam as a perfectly viable replacement for not that much of a dps loss even dual wielding.
