Reasons I stand against RaiderIO

Anyone can use whatever qualifier they want to form their group. Want only ret pallies? Do it. Only red transnogs? All you! First come, first served? Done!

The best thing about IO is that it at least gives the best available pertinent information on if a person has completed the dungeon and at what level.

Oh, I know. But the OP specifically said he was qualified to run those level keys. Hes obviously using a qualifier of some type. I think he doesnt like IO because it isnt his qualifier.

“There was no logical reason to not invite someone who met game requirements for that dung.”

Past Dungeons are a bad example, they weren’t timed or scaled difficulty content. A level of competency is required, not ilvl or someone who meets the level requirement. The Mythic + community would be a mess if not for Raider io, and you would be isolating people even more who are trying to get into runs. If iO was removed, I would NEVER run with someone I don’t know.

Repeat this to my after you invite a 0 score IO Tank in timed content after 10+. You will never complete a 15 guaranteed with someone who doesn’t know what they are doing.

Unless I’m misunderstanding what you mean, this would 100% ensure that no one ever helps people with lower scores.

All of this is about avoiding people with play styles different then your own.

Perhaps put in a personal description page for everyone. This way if you like fast and hard runs you can put the info on that page and group up with those with similar tastes and play styles. Put some simple in game icons next to your name.

Boots with wind = likes speed
A book Icon = wants to think about actions.
A ying yang = Good with all styles.

We could make a list of icon’s like that for a quick reference of a persons play style. This way people know what to expect from one another and are less likely to snap into anger assuming that everyone should be of the same play style.

Rofl yeah bro addons you get directly from twitch or weakauras with millions of imports definitely contain dastardly coding rofl.

You can put that in the description in LFG right now.

It’s true that would be a effect (except for guilds). But it would also make it so that players would seek out their own level when making groups, rather then pushing aside candidates within the content level in favor or high levels that would carry them. AKA it would allow low level IO’s to grow faster and gain more experience at the level they are supposed to be at.

At least that’s the concept when I thought of it.

My icon system would basicly make it so you didn’t have to type it out every time for ever single group you wanted to enter. ( it saves a bunch of typing and helps in regular heroic’s/ normal/ raids as well).

If were going to redesign the LFG system - why not just bring back oQueue or OpenRaid? Those addons/websites were way better than the LFG system Blizzard came up with to replace them.

It’s true, If I recall when those programs where in effect I could actually list myself as looking for a group. I would really like to have that ability once more.

Seems like this is just punishing one group to try and force people to do something they could already do now if they wanted to.

So you would queue for stuff with your style selected, and LFD/R would match you accordingly? I think that’d explode queue times for the slow groups.

Your computer can auto-sort stuff in fractions of seconds. One more factor to calculate would not explode que times. The system would only try and group play styles a bit, but if push comes to shove it’s gonna throw in other play types to fill the group fast. The important thing would be to show the tiny icon’s so that everyone is aware of everyone else preferences and the group can pick how to proceed.
It’s kinda like driving behind a guy with a dent on his back bumper. You know he has had trouble stopping in the past and you know to give him some room. Without that dent you assume he drives according to your normal…which may get you a dent in the front of your car if your not careful.

Sad truth is that someone is always going to get punished. Right now players trying to work up their scores get punished by players who refuse them based upon wanting to get carried. (Also please note this is for both entering and creating groups.)

I think queues would be longer for the slow style groups. People are always saying here that everyone is gogogo.

This is where you get the ragers who want to go quick or slow but half the group doesn’t. IMO if the focus is making preferred style count, you’d need it to stick to the selections. At the very least, the system should pop up and say "you have queued for A style. A group is available now at B style. Would you like to join? "

If the dents on his back bumper, I’d assume someone else had a problem stopping behind him.

Can’t agree here. You really aren’t getting punished if you create your own groups and do content that you can handle. There have to be plenty of people available if the gatekeeping is the problem you insist that it is.

like I said if they ban Raider IO/all third party metrics we will simply tell people to meet us somehwere for an inspect and to link whatever achievements we want them to have either way the “gatekeepers” will continue to “gatekeep”

Making the game easier for people who are bitter about challenging content is the excuse for 99% of threads in here.

The OP of this thread is basically saying “Let’s put all applications to an engineer corps in a basket and then draw four papers at random.” Then he hires them on the spot with no interview.

Then he will complain that two people he hired have no training or internship, one is a high school dropout, and the last one is actually qualified for the job duties.

Most gatekeeping happens naturally thru people who no longer even know they are doing it.

It’s kinda like your Mother commenting about your life. In her mind she is being helpful, You your mind you wanna nope out there like the roadrunner.

I join groups all the time on my alt tank that have 2 or 3 dps in them. In those groups, a DPS made a group in LFG and found a full group. How is what I said invalid? I bet if I list my +20 workshop right now as a DPS I’ll be able to fill it within 5 minutes.

In real life when you apply for a job, usually the employer will contact your previous places of employment or your references to make an informed and reasonable decision to hire you or not based on good or bad word of the contacts.

In WoW, dungeon group leaders will look at your history of completing dungeons and ascertain whether or not you’re worth their time and their key that they built by checking your score, which dungeons you timed, etc.

Complaining about this is futile, IO is good for the game.
