So not only have they made old zones irrelevant, but they’re still forcing people to travel through them. Genius. Absolutely genius…

Yes, in the scale of things this may be minor but … that final straw after numerous frustrating and annoying changes. Too many cuts, too much loss of faith and trust. Then one final thing. Wham. One less customer.

With new expansions, we’ve made a tradition of removing some of the portals from the previous expansion’s cities. The goal with that is to encourage transportation flow through newer places where players are more likely to interact with other players. We neglected to do that initially following Legion (and we never did that following Mists of Pandaria for various reasons),

Can you really call it a tradition when you “neglected to do that” for half the relevant expansions?

you mean the gambling folks that are addicted to get 0.1-1% mounts drops in game? they will get tired in time perhaps not soon… because so far I’ve seen people go full casual mode and login for raiding then log off until next week rather than “leaving” the game, because the raid is good and the rest of the “current content” souless and made by someone who refuses to listen to anyone but certain group.

I said it in the other thread, I’m glad for fewer portals. It gives the utility of engineers and mages some meaning. I’d be okay with one person to the current expansion’s hub.

Kaivax pretty clearly and accurately states that old portals from old expansions are removed with the exception of Legion and MoP. This is just staying in line with a Day 1 philosophy. It’s really not that big of a deal and it certainly isn’t worthy of the outrage this decision is receiving.

Except, it wasn’t day one philosophy. The first intro of portals to capital cities was in Wrath and they didn’t remove them when Cataclysm first landed, it was rather a while later. If I recall correctly, it wasn’t until Pandaland that they removed the portals in Dalaran (though if I am wrong that’s okay).

It’s revisionist.

Also, I’m not outraged. I am annoyed - and it’s another in a long list of annoyances that are slowly whittling my enjoyment of the game down. At a certain point, it simply won’t be fun. BFA is already mediocre at best.

Yes exactly. Give us a skip to end button, the screen fades to black implying your character is travelling and then you are at your destination. Instead of checking facebook or going and getting a snack you get to keep playing the game instead of waiting for the “travel cut-scene” to be over.

First off, thank you for responding to players concerns (even if we’re not all happy with the actual response).

Now, my specific concers:

The portals to Cataclysm zones will remain intact, and many other modes of transportation, such as Dalaran Signet Rings, Karazhan’s ring, the Timeless Isle trinket, Coordination Cloaks, and boats and zeppelins between many regions, will all be retained and functional.

Are there rings or cloaks to the Pandaria Shrines, Caverns of Time, Wyrmrest Temple, or Dalaran Crater? If so, where do I go to obtain them?

If there are any specific locations that feel as though they’re about to become unreasonably inaccessible, we’re certainly open to adding additional means of travel in the future.
