I have a concern,I went to mop and it just doesn’t feel right.Are they going to restrict flight ?

Wouldnt surprise me if they restricted flight for the entire game.
Any company who would use the crap lie about making the world ‘bigger’ to excuse removing portals that were being used daily would absolutely take flight away.
Oh wait…didnt they try that before.

I do hope they put the CoT portal in before 8.2. I also hope they make it easier for characters to get to Outland. Taking out all the hellfire portals wasn’t a good idea, in my opinion.

Mostly though, I’m looking at the post count of this thread and seeing it say I’m at post 10466/10472, but there are no other posts below number 10466. So I’m wondering if this will even post.

Edit: okay, it posted, and is showing as number 10473, so I don’t know what was going on with the count.

You don’t even have the slightest inkling of the reality here, i.e. it is you getting flagged that keeps getting this topic locked? :roll_eyes: Sooner or later that padlock will be permanent, or the entire thing just 404s.

Keeping it on point, I wonder just how difficult for them to hotfix in a portal is.

Would be sort of a nice thing to do given what has been going on.

Edit: meaning at least hotfixing the CoT portal

Does anyone know if the portals in Dal are showing up for questing characters yet? I had a couple who needed to do those, but I kind of gave up checking the portals. Now I can’t remember which of my characters needed to do those quests. (The perils of being an altoholic.)

Nope, as of my last check on Sunday they were not working for those that have quests.

I haven’t posted in a couple of days. I have been busy. I would just like to ask one thing, though. Can we just skip the “troll” posts and try to have an actual conversation about this? Responding to the people who are for this change or who are here just to get us riled up is not productive.

Now on to the portals. I still love the fact that the hellfire portal doesn’t work on my shaman. So now I have to take a zeppelin to get anywhere near kara. I am actually beyond frustrated at this. When I take a zeppelin my world is not feeling larger.

All it does is make me take more time to get where I am going which just makes me angry. Taking away my ability to get places quickly is quite a nuisance. Were these portals hurting the players before the change? No they weren’t. In fact, if you didn’t like them, you could opt not to use them.

It also made people go out in the world more which, at least to me would make the world feel bigger with more people in it. Everyone I have talked to and on this thread has stopped farming old raids for pets and mounts. If they haven’t stopped they have significantly cut down their attempts.

Cutting down the attempts on cool looking transmog, mounts, etc is annoying. Cutting down the way we get to the raids to collect these items is even more annoying. I am baffled as to why taking away convenience was even a thought. Why would you intentionally take away options that made players happy?

I am saying all of this and like I have said before, this doesn’t honestly affect me that much except the dalaran crater, blasted lands, and wyrmwrest temple portals. I can get to CoT and almost anywhere because I have CM teleports and I am engineer.

Just because it doesn’t affect me as much as others doesn’t mean I am okay with it. Saying that you’ve done this before and you want to keep a “tradition” is baffling. You’ve done it once before and this time you went above & beyond making the players upset.

Can we at least agree that taking away things from players that they’ve had for 10+ years is insane? I honestly don’t know what to say sometimes.

Well there’s no space for it in either room atm, all the portals are laid out symmetrically. The Alliance room has those dual stairs that lead to locked doors/gates, but putting it up there seems inconvenient.

Unless they’re gong to just stick a CoT NPC in there somewhere, expanding the rooms probably wouldn’t be a quick hotfix.

Your argument rests on “we’ve always had it, therefore we must always keep it”, pretty much the definition of American conservatism. And a logical fallacy.

There are a few spot near the exit of the Mage Tower to add portals.

I forgot the Horde version is not as large as the Alliance one. That could be a problem on that side for sure.

Don’t do Horde toons so I would not know. There is easily room for 4 portals in the Mage Tower.
