Grobbulus is locked because it’s extremely over populated, so if you want to get in, you’re wanting to transfer to an over populated server.
Deviate Delight is a medium-high pop RPPvP server that’s far more active in RP on the Alliance side than Grobbulus is. You won’t consider that, though, cause it’s not over populated.
Well, people from DD told me the server isn’t very active, and I have all my friends on Grobbulus 'cause they transfered there before the lock (I wasn’t playing on that moment) xdd
I don’t fully like this decision… perhaps enforce a limitation to those that transfer to prevent them from being the FIRST to hit the gong and therefore not throw off the server’s own natural progression… but the issue that i’m personally having here is that classic wow’s essence is to promote a reliving of the previous content. People in retail vanilla did NOT know what the quest steps were ahead of time, they did NOT know ahead of time what to farm. i’m on a low hoarde-high ally population server and my server has guilds who have already created alts and transferred all of the required items through the neutral auction house and have solid intentions to open the gates after the first week to grief other players…
this is not the essence of vanilla wow… this is not the intention of the gates event. i had high hopes to be a scarab lord when i picked up classic wow. i had high hopes of being able to touch base on every aspect of fun listed in this game and the singular time gated function in this game is going to be ruined because a couple of larger guilds have the full intention to get their own scarab lords and then occupy the hives so that nobody else can earn the rep required for their own scarab lords…
yes, the scarab lord is supposed to be a privileged title for the few who were able to earn it… however the issue that i’m having is that by allowing this type of environment while snuffing another is only solving one half of the equation.
the items required for the event turn in should have been altered so as to prevent hoarding for the war effort… the gates should have had a hard limit placed on them in line with the earliest gate opening in vanilla
instead we’re following hard “data” to make the experience technically the same as far as the patch is concerned while also changing elements that could be taken advantage of in other places (see server transfer restrictions)
if you’re going to address one form of griefing by disallowing people to transfer and get the title then you ought to disallow people from griefing their own server in the manner i described. it takes away the soul of what this gate event is supposed to be
Considering the earliest someone can open the gates is Aug 4th(2nd reset after AQ patch on July 28th) that would be 92 days after your transfer so you can become scarab lord regardless.
We dont want people transferring our server either at this juncture.

Can we please have a date for when servers are unlocked so we know when we can transfer and get back to friends?

One could likely transfer to Arcanite Reaper a couple months from now and still have enough time to get the bug mount. Low pop with only one horde guild that actually clears bwl.

You are way too concerned with the title. If you had of actually wanted the title you should have been working on it from day 1 launch rather than expecting to start in phase 4 or 5, even phase 3 is just too late to be starting when we all know the resources and the quests.

People want to cheat their way to rank 14… Be able to print money and be Scarab Lord?
Anyone whining about AV, blocking of layer exploits, dungeon run caps or any other entitled ranty crap should just make their own private server, grant themselves a level 60 toon with “BiS,” 100.000 gold, along with the Grand Marshall and Scarab Lord titles, and be done with it.
Will this affect characters that transferred prior to today? Or prior to the AQ announcement setting the date for release?
I transferred exactly for the reasons listed as legitimate reasons, to play with friends and family.
Do you have friends that are independent of one another? I do. I rolled on one server to play with somebody initially. I took a break for awhile, came back and eventually transferred to play with friends/family that I played with during Vanilla/TBC/WotLK. I’ll be on CD for 30-40 days still when AQ gates open.
