…which was obviously a joke if you had alts on any servers that were actually large. I look forward to welcoming our new neighbors, did the merge go through on the first try this time?
you would be incorrect its been a central server for years based in Chicago, not LA and blackmoore is EU not NA they weren’t part of our group
Blackmoore is a backend virtual server, it hosts the cluster, and has an ID of 1168. As a player you won’t see it but it does exist in US as well.
As for the data centre, well here’s a handy list for you, tell me where you find Frostmane
Brazilian realms please! N’zoth rules here its so empty!!
Are you only connecting realms that run on the same server? I assume nothing is being switched to a different region?
How long will it take for the website to update showing proper connections in the forums? Some of these connections were done ~month ago and they still do not show up properly when trying to go to that individual servers forum. Also is there a way we could get a sticky post of what realms have been connected since the beginning of these recent connections?
And what good has it done with this sharding too? Yesterday I was trying to complete my Voldun CTA during the Faction assault with a fresh 120. NOT 1 Alliance! Let me say that again. NOT ONE! If I log on to another Horde toon in the same realm, There can be raids of Alliance, or nothing…
Met a new friend the other day, that was not in a group or anything. Turns out they aren’t even on a connected realm. I can not trade with them and they can’t be in the same guild. This makes no sense to me at all.
It sure would be nice if realm forums could get cleaned up to reflect the last round of connections.
Since bumping older threads is all the rage on the forums now, I have a question: are we going to see any more realm connections? The last one was over a year ago.
It doesn’t make much sense why you just stopped connecting realms (mid-process?). There are still realms with only 1 other connection (like the one a lot of my alts are on, Shu’halo), and there are realms with even worse fates - realms like Gallywix and Earthen Ring cannot be considered healthy in an MMO setting.
If you look at WoWProgress, every realm/realm connection group ranked 62 and worse is a realm or group of two realms who were not connected in last year’s batch. It feels like the choices of who was connected were completely arbitrary, and it seems pretty unfair to the people who stuck with their old realms to not connect their realms.
The question begs to be asked, were some realms left to languish in order to keep a few of the realms in the “low” category in order to make the other realms “higher” population in the realm status algorithm? Does Blizzard even realize how dire the situation on some of their realms is?
Realm connections work. Finish the job, Blizzard. Connect all the realms (except the highest pop ones, of course).

its pretty simple, from the other thread it seems they now see this as an income stream - you can either stay on a dead server or pay to move to one with somebody actually on it.
My guild did that three years ago, we moved some of our toons from Shu’halo to Whisperwind. However, we were a very large guild, and some people couldn’t justify or afford the expense of transferring, and stayed on Shu’halo. Most don’t play anymore, and I don’t blame them.
If Shu’halo had a healthy, connected realm population, I’d play there a lot more.
They need to just remove some connections, some are good, but something like connecting Thaurissan to Frostmourne was plain stupid. Thaurissan has like 5 guilds left and 99% horde, Frostmourne on the other hand is the best server in the world for alliance.
I doubt they are going to remove connections. There are Frostmourne players in Thaurissan guilds, and vice versa. Would you support forcibly removing those players from their guilds?
Not so much remove the Thaurissan-Frostmourne connection, but in the case of OCE just remove all limitations entirely. Why even have those connections to begin with? Why can’t we just join whoever, whenever, it’s about time they opened up the servers and stopped having individual Ah’s and whatever else is limiting players and in some cases forcing players to decide if they want to move servers for more opportunities.
I’m guessing Oceanic realms being connected to other Oceanic realms has to do with those servers being physically located in Australia. Oceanic is pretty Alliance-heavy; not sure there’s much more Blizzard can do within those confines.
-stuffs the necrod post back in the grave-
No! Bad Zombie! No brains for you!
Hey, I thought a Blizzard flagged post would get Blizzard’s attention, even if it is a necro.
They need to merge low with high. I play on 4 realms.
One is full
One is high
One is medium (4connected)
One is low (4connected)
The low ravenholdt could be thrown in with high emerald dream and it still would not be full. Need to finish merging please.
The medium could also be con ected to a high without making it full.
I actually like connected realms because there are more options for names.
