If you’re active in the LFG channel, you’ll encounter Tal, Cae, and me daily. So…
As a Horde no I will not.
Don’t be so sure about that.
I’m gonna be honest, I find it really interesting that the people from Proudmoore seem to have more of a problem with this whole thing than anyone else. I get it that Proudmoore has built a specific community, but isn’t that community based on the idea of accepting other people? I figured Proudmoore would be more open to the idea of being able to make a good effort at influencing other people to be kind to others.
Shad, I have been on this server since the start of LK. I have seen this server change good and change bad. The fact of the matter is there are NUMEROUS trolls. Good trolls and bad trolls. Trolls that make up crap , and trolls who grief other people. Happy trolls and trade chat trolls. This whole forum posting has been nothing but a few trolls trying to grief other people and making up stupid crap into making Hyjal players think evil things about other people. Ill say it again. They are trolls. Nothing more nothing else.
Honestly, from what it sounds like they’re not doing it to merge alliance with alliance, and horde with horde. It seems to me there’s one dominate faction from either side that is the opposite that they intentionally wish to balance out Horde and Alliance. Especially since it’s known that there are many horde dominant or perhaps alliance dominant for specific servers that dominate PvP or Mythic content, and they probably just wish to balance that out for numbers sake.
As for the lag, they likely have ways around of server lag and I’m sure it’ll probably be a bit messy the first few days but I have no doubt it’ll get fixed out no problem.
Can you explain the logic around connecting realms like Hyjal and Proudmore, that have 7200 and 15450 populations respectively, and then in 15 other instances, connecting realms to totals of like 3000 people.
Also, besides the usual attempt of wanting people to transfer because you want their $30 per character, why are there so many realms with sub 2000 total population that have been left dormant for so long? These servers are literally dead zones and the players aren’t even able to play the same game that people on higher pop servers can.
I can see already that you will respond with something regarding “Not everyone wants to play on a high pop server.”, to which I say, for one, BS. And two, there is plenty of middle ground between 2000 and 25000 that can allow players to experience parts of each situation.
What’s the intention of dev’s connecting medium/high pop realms with another of the same one?
Great after dealing with people on Proudmoore in pvp i really don’t want to be connected to that server it is toxic.
Unless you have price fixing in place, there is nothing that is going to ‘screw’ up your economy.
Most of that server is horde, which you can’t communicate with anyway under normal circumstances.
Blizzard probably has a lot more accurate figures on things that we do. And I don’t understand what the second has to do with the first really, they are obviously connecting realms using a number of factors.
You made one of the posts that wasn’t so welcoming?
This right here, shouldn’t low pop realms be higher priority than medium pop realms or trying to balance factions. Get lower pop realms up to a healthier pop then work on faction balance.
Nah Kel’Thuzad is already semi connected with Stormreaver and has been since Legion.
azshara/destro/thunderlord/azgalor isnt low pop. Its a medium. new player doesnt mean low pop. The other New Player connected realm has a high pop. However I do agree that im still pretty confused about the merger though. adding blood furnace, mannoroth, and nazjatar is barely an addition of players. The azshara/destro/thunderlord/azgalor cluster will still be a medium. Seems kind of redundant
Will most likely not even be acknowledged by whatever team is deciding these mergers but please reconsider “The Blood Furnace, Mannoroth, and Nazjatar realms will join the Azgalor, Azshara, and Destromath realms…” It barely bolsters numbers. There had to have been better connection that could have been made to bring both of these clusters to a high pop status
I hope Oceanic Aman’Thul is on your short list of to be connected. Perhaps to Khaz’goroth and Dath’Remar
woo finally
Yeah. I am a little embarrassed by how my fellow Proudmoore server folks are acting in this topic. We should be welcoming the people and the chance to share our renowned friendliness and good vibes. Not acting like some ivory tower to look down upon others.
When ever people ask for a PST server, I always recommend Proudmoore for Alliance and Tich for Horde. Now, a whole server is being merged with Proudmoore. They are lucky.
It’s not like Proudmoore is being merged with Tich or Malganis- those two servers are wretched hives of scum and villainy, and thats what makes them fun! But Proudmoore is more of a chill vibe, and so is Hyjal. I think the folk from Hyjal and Proudmoore will mesh well.
That would actually be a pretty good change for the realm lists but I feel like they’re just outdated spaghetti code that Blizzard doesn’t wanna fix or improve anytime soon because it would take “too many resources” and “isn’t high on the to-do list”.
I’m like 99% sure that server caps are much higher than some of the biggest realms but still display as “Full” to deter new players from attempting to go to them. Maybe they don’t have the tech to deal with larger realms? But that wouldn’t really support the fact that some realm groupings are like 5 to 6, and I think there’s a 7 realm linked group?
At the end of the day, I’m glad Hyjal was the realm picked to be linked with PM. I’m not sure if it’ll shake up the raiding scene at all with Temerity being a great guild but now competing with Formality for serious progression raiding recruitment but it could also help other guilds potentially recruit as well.
PvP for the most part would be unchanged outside of Warmode memes but I think the few of us on PM that enjoy and play with Warmode on would welcome an actual source of Horde players to play with outside.
