Re-thinking the recent Cinematic

Something they’ve been dragging out for multiple expansions. It’s becoming tedious.

Magic addicted elf (like all of them) found new source of magic.

I know, difficult to grasp.

I actually think they freed Bolvar from being the LK placeholder to be something more powerful later on. With nothing holding him back he can now start being himself and learn to use his newfound power from the Dragon. Maybe the first Dragon Knight in WoW  And I am sure with pre-patch event and tie in novels we will see more of what happened before, during and after that cinematic. Bolvar was not a pushover he made Sylvanas work for her victory unlike with Saurfang whom she really just toyed and one shotted like paper at the end.

From what I’ve read it seems that the sundering of the helm is what opens the whole expansion… so they would have to find another way for us to enter the shadowlands… seems like a stretch to change that. Also, I think you meant 9.x not 8.2…

You shouldn’t have to rethink a cinematic

The helm and frostmourne were independent of whoever wielded them at the time. That was the whole point. The individual gets drawn in by the power offered by those artifacts and submits to them.

We have the benefit of Arthas being the one person to accept the mantle of LK that has the most story explained to us. He wanted the power of frostmourne because he believed using force was the best way to accomplish his goals.

Bolvar may have more self-control, because of his reluctance, than Arthas but through our order hall quests, he’s still doing some pretty shady stuff that is definitely in line with what Arthas would do. Wants us to wipe out the red dragonflight and try to raise a former paladin to join the army of the dead.

It explains why she doesn’t need the horde anymore.

Took the horde and alliance working together a whole expansion to do what She did in a matter of minutes.

Malfurion didn’t seem to be having a hard time with her earlier in the expansion. Her power amplified that much in that short of time?

They told us she gets more power every time someone dies. She was having a hard time with Malfurion, but once Teldrassil was burned and thousands perished in the flames, of course her powers ramped up.

The destroying of the helmet comes across more as a “wouldn’t this look cool” and little else. Epic moment for the sake of epic moment.

Yeah 9.2, my bad.

To be fair, she got really cocky and was essentially gloating over him when he managed to split the swords and graze her face slightly with his sword. She was fighting him without using any powers at all until the very end when she killed him. She went full bore on LK from the get go and didn’t prance around him gloating.

With both artifacts destroyed nobody is going to be able to control the scourge or raise DK’s. Unless we get a convenient workaround.

If previous lore is adhered to the scourge should be running amok once again with nobody to keep them in check.

Bolvar did surprise her. You can see it during the Remorseless Winter part where she is anticipating him attacking her for the third time, but for it actually to be a rock spear being thrown at her. She just had the advantage of becoming Banshee mist.

They’ve stated that this is going to be pre-xpac content: Scourge Invasion 2.0

She was also toying a bit with Malfurion if we read the novels and like in saurfangs case it backfired a bit lolz

She was completely in control, on the Lich King’s turf.

Oh yeah that is a pretty nice advantage to be able to become invincible at will. Sounds strangely like plot armor.

Also I guess Remorseless Winter is just fog now.

One thing that bothers me the more I watch it is, it looks like Bolvar does land a blow on her when he summons his remorseless winter. He misses the first attack but it looks like he lands a hit on Sylvanas and she reels back and kind of staggers.

But that’s it, she’s not wounded, taken by surprise or anything. Guy with a giant 2h mace hits her and she shrugs it off like nothing. I know she’s empowered and MAYBE that’s why she was able to parry Saurfangs weapon…but she’s fighting the Lich King, even if it is just Bolvar I would’ve expected a better fight.

So they are doing what they did with Legion and the Burning Legion with Shadowlands and the Scourge where prelaunch is concerned?

How unoriginal. :frowning:

People seem to be forgetting who Bolvar is.

The guy was quite possibly the most powerful living Paladin (Tirion probably edges him out) and regent of Stormwind while Varian was MIA. He literally survived the Blight and being burned by dragons at the Wrathgate, followed by being tortured basically to death by Arthas while never submitting or having his will broken.

Bolvar was a legitimate bada*# before he ever put the Helm of Domination on and became the most powerful Death Knight behind Arthas who was dead. Nobody will convince me the Lich King hasn’t had his own power schemes going on behind the scenes since that time.

We actually know quite a bit about him. Oh and btw he actually demanded to be allowed to take the helm. He has never been reluctant about it.

So 1 expansion ? In Legion, she wasn’t showed to have this immense power yet or a drive to do anything except find a way to extend her life. That was only revealed in BfA.

Why don’t you link us some of your fanfic if you’re such a great writer. Maybe we’ll be wowed by your prose.

Yea I am curious how they will tell it. They said the reason all allied races can be DK now is because Bolvar raised them as an army to fight Sylvanas in the future so don’t know how he can still raise DK without the helm etc. Maybe the rumor of the new generation DK being borne out more from the Dragon fire within Bolvar than the scourge might be true. Bolvar have the red dragonflight’s living fire within him which has the power to resurrect the way it saved his life. which is why i am calling him Dragon knight lolz
