Re: the ignore function in 9.1.5

Actions yield consequences.

Don’t want to be mass blocked, don’t act like a raging jerkbag in public.

If you want to PvP with human interaction then go PvP irl and stat boxing or something. Don’t get your human interaction from a computer, get human interaction from humans.

Exactly. There’s guilty people on both sides, and Blizz has gone the way of mass punishment. ToS alone is not enough to punish the real criminals, is what this patch has shown.

Yes but while I’ve not felt hurt by my beginning experiences, there was a lot of unnecessary badgering and attacks that make the person sending them seem nuts.

Trash talking is fine to an extent but majority of what I’ve witnessed is adults devolving into teenagers that start hurling insults on the slightest off thing that happens.

So just as you were able to ‘trash talk’, the other person has the right to not just take it. These experiences soured my perspective of this game and I can bet it has lots more.

It’s about time Blizz stepped in to de-incentivize attacks on others.

It’s an MMO that is PVE orientated that doesn’t need;

To begin with.
Keep that stuff in actual Wars.

I think when people start acting like adults and normal human beings to one another is when MORE people will finally see this community less of a cesspool and more of an actual community.

I use the global ignore addon.

the game feels almost tranquil and it appears there are only a few players per server that cause the toxic chat.

if I queue into a group that has someone I have muted, the addon tells me and gives me the choice to stay or leave.

that’s handy for world bosses.

How selfish does that sound. You and your friends come first, but you expect others to lay aside self for others. Don’t ask of others what you yourself are not willing to do, is a good piece of advice.

Not exclusive to Texas, as many a cattle drive was done in many nations of human history.

I know. That’s why I don’t play the hypocrite. But if this change is going to hinder me on resolving grievances on a people level, I would be more resolved to QQ altogether because I don’t have a way to purge the toxicity that doesn’t magically go away from ignoring. I don’t think this change will prevail; people will find workarounds. If I’m not prepared to toughen up to it, then I would quit. 16 years of WoW says what way I’d go.

This loophole people have found is taken away, to counter against toxic ignorers.

I was too, to highlight that we might as well play Hello Kitty if we want a completely non-toxic, non-confrontational online experience.

You know–and this is just an innocent observation–9/10 times I try not to hold grudges. Now I do use Spy and people that I have problems with are KOS(Kill On Sight), but that just helps me to adjust to their presence. It still means I got to be tough to handle the adversity thereof, while understanding that I can’t just wish the bad people out of my game.

your whole thread is selfish
“i dont like this block feature because then i cant trash talk for my fun!”

You assume I do it for fun. You weren’t listening when mine was done mostly from a counter-reactive pretense, but now I can’t fight against toxic people my way, the way that would make it more trouble for them than it was worth.

Nah you where just conditioned to think that way. Anyone with a shred of self discipline can control ones angry and not lash out with words or bashing your desk.

You can control whether you get angry or not but you CAN CONTROL how you choose to react. Personally a couple deep breaths and self centering and I’m relaxed again.

I’m SUPER HAPPY tho that people like you are just going to be silenced by people you decide to whisper. So glad you won’t be able to log onto other characters and “trash” talk like an infant.

Hopefully it’ll teach you some self discipline something severely lacking in the new generation. If not your frustration will cause you to bash ur own computer In rage and hopefully you just stop playing.

Too bad league of legends is just going to get rid of the chat box. No one has to deal with your toxic behavior anymore.

No, i expect others not to waste their time. Because honestly dealing with people trashtalking is just that.

Well you get what i was going for.

While you’re getting upset at people ignoring your trashtalking and saying “i have the right to trashtalk”, i’m gonna have to press X to doubt on that.

Why? What exactly trashtalking back to another person honestly do? Really?

I mean at a primal base instinct level, sure it feels good, but at a normal human levle, what does it do really? Because all it seems to do is get people into trouble.

Well you are correct, there is one workaround already, ableit expensive, and that is buying another seperate account to trashtalk them.

…Yet this thread exists… :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

It’s not toxic to ignore people.

And you’re no where near the position of talking down toxicity when you’re encouraging trashtalking. Like earth to Nusk? You keep on saying you’re not a hypocrite, but you’re constantly doing… hypocritical things like this one.

Again, reductionist way of thinking right here.

How about you, instead of complaining and doing nothing of worth… you toughen the heck up and solve your own dang problems? Like going back to CoD since you clearly dislike WoW’s community and game because they chose not to be a 6 year old CoD player back in the xbox 360 days and actually decided to be mature?.. Or more mature then that?..

How’s people ignoring you taking away your ability to fight against toxic people? You can deal with toxic people… without being a jerk or trashtalking.

I roll my eye whenever somebody says “Oh you’re whining because you can’t be toxic anymore? sucks to be you” because i do believe people should have the freedom to express themselves and if they dislike it, then just ignore it.

But this is like seriously, the most entitled thing i’ve ever seen on the forums. I am literally watching somebody right now, unable to handle people ignoring their trashtalking… Like what the heck is this?.. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

No thanks. I’m there to get what kills i can, what honor points I can and have fun.

I’m not there to trash talk or be trash talked to. I’m not there to compete with anyone.

I dont play video games for competition. I play to relax, enjoy myself and maybe discover something new.

Yeah i agree. I’m not here to do esports. I’m here to do casual things, like farm mogs, do quests and sometimes kill other players whenever i’m bored with PvE.

Ain’t my fault OP is mad at the world for not listening to him. :man_shrugging:

Account-wide ignore is one of the best features coming in 9.1.5.

Agreed. When I play swtor and it has its legacy wide ignore, then play wow and wonder why that’s not a thing too I scratch my head.

Thankfully blizz is finally implementing it.

How is this in any way a bad option for those who want it while playing a video game? Not everyone wants confrontation and toxicity when they’re doing something that they enjoy or that they play to relax and get away from the cares of the real world.

Let them do their thing, and you do yours. It’s on them if those people they ignore keep them from getting in groups as I’m pretty sure they don’t want to be in groups with those people anyway. And if it’s in any way impeding your ability to get groups, well perhaps you should reevaluate your choices. Freedom of speech doesn’t protect you from the consequences.

Honestly it just seems like this entire thread is about you wanting protection from the consequences of your own actions.

In the real world it’s typically resolved with actual warfare.

that’s still a selfish reason.
