Note: sometimes the post preview isn’t 100% accurate for the image scale when the post is actually submitted. It doesn’t matter much here with these GIFs specifically made to fit 3 into 600 pixels, but it can matter with other images.
For those with Trust Level 3 that want to use these GIFs, want to use them 2- or 3-wide like I do, but have not used same-line image embedding in the past (and instead rely on the forum to auto-display linked images on separate lines), you will need to follow this format:
The exclamation-point/bang embeds the image instead of just creating a link. The alt text is optional meta data (as is everything in the square brackets []); however, I know there are players using the WoW forum who are visually impaired usings screen readers like JAWS, so providing a short text description helps those users out though maybe that’s less useful in a transmog thread.
If you want to alter the image resolution displayed, you must include the pipe character | whether or not you input any Alt Text.
All of these particular GIFs have dimensions of 200x298 pixels specifically so that 3 of them will fit side-by-side within 600 pixels. The forum seems to cap single-line, total width of all images on a line to 690 pixels, and I usually manually control the width of mine to fit in 600 pixels because that’s easier to deal with than 690.
The scaling percent will scale the image as a percentage of the width and height you specify though it’s not exceedingly useful because the forum will scale the linked image to whatever you specified anyways (well, using the width and ignoring whatever you give it for height because it seems to force the original aspect ratio).
The forum may display the example tag text in gray across multiple lines; however, when typing them in, there should not be any line breaks in them.
*Also, if the GIFs appear to be out of sync in terms of animation, that’s a browser-side issue and a page refresh usually fixes it…
