I give it 3/10
I log into the forums more than the game.
Let’s see, it’s ok. 5/10. The raid has been boring aside from a couple bosses. I like a few of the dungeons but the rest are meh to infuriating. I dont do the maw. Torghast is a pain. Covenant progression timegated and having the same 2 to do each week is dumb. Loot drop is terrible for miltispec. Losing rating at 1000 in pvp instead of 1400 is a terrible change. Pvp is broken. Conduits should swap like essences in the HOA.
I know there’s more but that’s all I can think of.
I know this is like the worst and most boring rating imaginable, but I give it a solid 7/10.
There’s potential, but several issues are holding it back from being a true 9/10.
Great point, and they are giving us filler content to maximize our view time until they give us the good stuff
1/10 would not smash
RATE SHADOWLANDS SO FAR
C+ to B-
I’m at just okay i like trogast but not that i can t rerun same level for rewards even if they were less, I like idea covenants but not the gating same with renown gating and I think once you unlock a covenant renown or transmog mount they should available to all your toons or say add rep reward that if you get exalted on a rep it unlockable reward for other toons. Overall though not a fan of Shadowland zones stories maybe maldraxxes which i though i would hate but like the best.
6/10. I don’t hate the expansion. I think it’s pretty solid. I might just be burnt out but I’ve felt pretty apathetic to the game lately. I just log in every week to get some more gold, do my weeklies, cap renown, and so on.
I should probably find a guild. Or just continue playing Demon’s Souls.
Ima give it a 4/10
5/10 for me. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with it and it improved on a lot of BfA’s systems but it just doesn’t feel like Warcraft with the story and zones.
I am loving raiding (haven’t liked raiding since Wrath) and Torg+maw. I can’t seem to get into mythic+ like I did in BFA, it just seems… like a slog. I can’t put my finger on it, maybe it is gear, but warrior tanking sucks, even a +4 is a struggle.
I would give this expac a 8/10, legion was a 6/10 for me (I HATE THAT STUPID ELF CITY), BFA was 7/10 when it started then dropped to 5/10 when it ended.
Only expac I thought was 10/10 was wrath, I thought BC was bland, and I quit classic after a year of playing and took a break for 2 years.
I agree with almost everything you said. I’d probably rate it 5/10 though.
I found all of the stories other than Revendreth to be kind of bland. I feel no connection to anything going on in the Shadowlands. It’s all kind of meh. I try to keep engaged and immersed, but it’s difficult.
Rescuing souls in the Maw and Torghast is the most rewarding thing for me. Everything else just seems like terrible anima management of each covenant. Like if I can get anima, so can they. But nope.
Only one I enjoyed was Revendreth, and they had a revolt going on to push back. I guess Maldraxxus is more internal fighting, but even so, things got so out of hand how? Meh.
And I don’t understand why each covenant is so important because they’re all so isolated and focused on different things. Do they even do anything outside of their own area? I don’t get it.
4/10, for many of the same reasons mentioned…tell ya what, it gets a 5/10 just for this bad boy…
Hello handsome…
This feels like a more honest assessment. Like I said, the new customizations were a large factor into the 7/10 for me. I really like all the new customizations and cannot wait for me. Without those I think it’d be closer to a 3/10 or a 5/10 for me.
Well, what they do is important to the continuity of the Shadowlands is the thing. I just don’t think Blizzard has done that fantastic of a job of demonstrating that? Each Covenant’s role is important, but why they’re important specifically to the Shadowlands isn’t entirely clear.
The Kyrians are the psychopomps who keep bringing souls there, but its not like other psychopomps don’t exist (Bwonsamdi), who are more effective right now for not being bound to the same rigid rules as the Kyrians (he’s actually saved troll souls from the Maw).
Maldraxxus keeps the Shadowlands safe from external threats, but we’re only seeing them fight a Civil War. It’s sad that the Kyrians have a quest/WQ where you experience them actually fighting an external threat, and that there isn’t something similar for Maldraxxus.
Ardenweald seems like it’s more important to the function of Life than Death, and Revendreth comes off as softcore Hell, when there is already a Hell. Oddly, I find those two more interesting and well developed/fleshed out than I do the Kyrians or the Necrolords.
I’ll give it a 9/10. Since I can’t keep up as it is, I have not even noticed any time gating. I find the story interesting and like that world quests take time now, but don’t like needing to look up quests on the web because they are not intuitive.
Well, to be fair, Draka and her army of remnants is pretty cornered at the Seat of the Primus and only really pushing outwards to that one section between the House of the Chosen and the House of Constructs.
Story: 1/10

1/10
Rather than attempt to fix the problems with hpal that made the GoL meme necessary, the devs made GoL a talent.
I hate GoL more than you can comprehend. Uninstalled the game over it.
Some issues, laggy servers and Torghast tied to legendary. Torghast is extremely boring for me.
Single threaded CPU on 2021 is instant 3 points off. 3/10
Herne is a solid 11/10. If there was more of him in the Ardenweald intro quests, I might’ve pushed my rating up to 8/10.
