This is a topic that was started in the Classic forums by a spiffy Panda named Hashnochange. He doesn’t have an active subscription, but the thread was a hot success IMO, would be cool to know what you guys think!
My thoughts;
Vanilla 9.5 - could have had a bit better balanced specs
TBC 9.9 - I liked flying and it felt like a great accomplishment, pvp dodging/small world
Wrath 9 - Loved the lore and art, start of losing my favorite spec SMF
Cata 6 - Still felt like the game I loved, LFR, Talent tree removal, and CRZ ~_~
Panda 0 - Didn’t play, april fools joke that went too far, warforge/titanforge/socket chance was introduced?
WoD 3 - good theme, didn’t deliver, WoW tokens and inflation was beyond repair at this point, sharding/CRZ made coming back feel like I wasn’t coming back to a community. First time I realised I wasn’t in an MMO anymore.
Legion 6 - I loved the weapons, class theme, and M+, still wasn’t an MMO
BFA 5 - Azerite Traits are cool, I don’t like luck regarding traits.(Dreading my 49000 purchases) I still would rather have 5, 6, and 8 piece sets. Item inflation feels like an expansion reset.

Wrath: 10/10. Favorite expansion free.
Cata: Started as a 7/10, ended as an 8/10. Hate CRZ, indifferent about LFR, only really started raiding near the end though.
MoP: Started as a solid 4/10, ended as a solid 9/10. I didn’t like the world content but the raids were solid.
WoD: Unironically a 9/10 for me because I raided. Raids were so unbalanced but I actually enjoyed this expansion a great deal once flying was released although that debacle made me nearly quit the game outright.
Legion: 2.5/10. I absolutely despised Legion for reasons that might be exclusive to just me, but this expansion left nothing but a very bad taste in my mouth and I really feel like people overrate it.
BFA: 5/10. I can’t really get TOO into it and objectively it’s a very bad expansion but I’m actually enjoying farming now more than I used to.
Didn’t play TBC or Vanilla.

Vanillin: Never player
BC: 10/10…I was 11 years old and was able to explore this huge world with my brother and friend. I mean it literally doesn’t get cooler than that. I had no clue about roles/balance/etc. it was perfect
WoTLK: 10/10… I started raiding and really began to understand the game, but at the time I was also young enough to absolutely love everything. I loved the zones, the story, and the community.
Cata: didn’t play
MoP:9/10…I just really enjoyed MoP, brand new world to explore and adventure, the monk, zones were beautiful, the story was really cool imo (it was original back then, lol)
WoD: 4/10…I liked the zones and initial aspect of it, but the endgame didn’t hold my attention and I just didn’t care once I hit max level.
Legion:7/10…I liked it a lot but it started to get old to me after awhile. The time gating was annoying and it the whole legendaries just never stuck with me. I loved the story and class halls though
BFA: 5/10…yeah man it does it’s thing. I like parts of it and I dislike parts of it.
WoTLK and MoP were my favorites and I spent the most time in them by far. I play in increments now so I just can see the game

Vanilla, TBC and WOTLK were all 10’s for me. I played this game WAY too much back then. Loved it to pieces and I had a great group of people I played with.
Cataclysm my life started changing towards the end of it and I had to quit. Still would have given it an 8/10.
Missed Pandaria but I’ve since gone back and played it. It looks like it was a solid 7/10 in retrospect despite the cheesey racist Chinese restaurant feel to it.
Missed WoD, but in hindsight it seems like it would have been easy for people to just isolate themselves in their garrisons. Great story and design, though. I say 5/10.
Missed the launch of Legion but I returned to WoW at the end. Seemed pretty solid all around. I didn’t have a guild for most of it, and ended up faction changing to Alliance towards the very end to have some IRL friends to play with. 7/10.
BfA seems to carry the torch of all the things that didn’t work about previous expansions and ignore all the things that did work. Got bored really fast and grinding AP is too much of a chore to do on alts. RNG is such a monstrous pain in the butt. Design and music are top notch, though. 4/10.

BFA - Horrible. This xpac has been about unlocking Allied sub races, Heritage armor and a variety of older Xpac content unable to play when they were current.

TBC 10/10 - Joined back then, loved it, and also had a lot of fun.
Wrath 10/10 - Most favourite expansion of all time, and everything was beautifully done.
Cata 7/10 - It was alright, but major downside for me was the long wait for the expansion to end.
MoP 7/10 - Loved the content, class design, everything, but wasn’t much of a fan of the hole Kong-fu theme and zones such as The Vale of Eternal Blossoms being destroyed.
WoD 4/10 - It had a lot of potential, but the one thing that was a huge disappointment is the Garrisons. It really made the entire expansion feel like a single player game
Legion 6/10 - I enjoyed it, but it was also a bit of a disappointment as well, especially with RNG on Legendaries, CRZ introduced to current content, and all that artifact grinding.
BfA 3/10 - This is turning out to be the worse expansion to my taste. Everything is really bad. From Class Design to Huge Time-Gating and a lot of broken stuff. The only thing that was really good from BfA is the artwork.

TBC - 8/10 (pros - Blood elves, zones)
Wrath - 9/10 (pros - story, my first time getting into raids)
Cata - 5/10 (pros - dungeons)
MoP - 8/10 (pros - class design, story, zones and timeless isle)
WoD - 6/10 (pros - easy alt leveling, questing, dungeons)
Legion - 9.5/10 (pros - artifacts, class halls, questing, invasions)

Wrath was like 10 years ago and I barely remember anything from that or Cata or MoP.
WoD was like a 5/10
Legion was like a 9/10
BFA is like a solid 7/10 so far.

It just has gone down ONLY b/c of the new systems/new team they have currently. Legion was alot of Casino-type system and i have not been a fan of it - Also Legion/BfA had Artifact/Azerite - All previous expansions didn’t have that crap, so that’s why it declines (Also Legion was first expansion w/o PvP Vendors/Tier…)

It’s been like a decade. Any memories I have would just be old nostalgia that isn’t really reliable.
Sure, everything was new and exciting, but I’m trying to be objective.
If I had to wager, it would be:
WoTLK: 8/10, Cata: 7/10, and Mop: 7.5/10? I dunno.
