Have you looked at them? Just for my own parses the average damage from raptor strike drops by 30% between the two bosses. It doesn’t ignore armor.

A DW melee hunter has zero mobility. If you’re letting one get in melee range of you, that’s your problem as a terrible mage player.

frost trap, freezing trap, conc shot, intimidation, bestial wrath, aspect of the cheetah… Zero mobility? Sure they can’t charge but they can certainly control your movement.

Tbh the first 2 nerfs completely gutted MM and everybody went BM, pretty sure they said they try to avoid such knee jerk nerfs now.
MM still hasn’t recovered btw even after the buffs.

Frost and freezing trap have to be set out of combat. If the hunter is running trap launcher, that means no dual wield spec which means way weaker raptor strikes.
Conc shot is a 4 second slow against a class that can purge them with Blink.
Intimidation is deep in the BM tree and means they won’t be as talented into RS damage, BW guarantees they have no melee damage talents. Also BW improves the pet’s mobility, not the hunter’s.
Cheetah? Really? You can’t hit the hunter with one instant or a rank one frost bolt or anything?
Really the only classes that have any right to be annoyed with Hunter atm are melee ones, if you’re getting gap closed on and killed by a hunter as a caster rn with how damage is, you’re failing spectacularly at your class.

Well when you start at the summit- the only place to go… is down.
Also, don’t forget the BUFF Hunters got since Lion became a freebee that didn’t take the place of other Aspects…
They really should revert that change… that’s dumb.
People like to create imaginary hunters with 31 points in all talent trees and every rune equip at the same time as their reasoning for why they should be nerfed. It’s quite comical.

I always thought Rogues would be the crazy ones in SoD, not us Hunters.
It’s honestly the fault of the Runes they gave us, many are just too strong.
Probably in later phases the crown will be taken from us in regards to “generally most powerful class”
I’m looking at Mages as well, they could easily be stronger with a few adjustments

For the record, the issue with melee hunters isn’t that melee is a completely viable hunter spec. It’s that it is top damage in the game while being basically a 1 button spec a 5 year old could play. Melee hunter should be viable, but not top damage in its current iteration.
It is not more simple than warrior DPS, yet no one ever had this argument about it. Same goes with rogue which was 2nd best p1.
Most melee rotations are simple, full stop.
