If it’s true that a rehash of an old expansion is competing with current content and coming out on top… well, I can’t help but wonder if maybe something is seriously wrong with current content. It’s difficult to imagine that microwaved leftovers would do so well otherwise.
As far as meta specs and BG premades dominating goes, I’d say that’s actually an issue with the playerbase’s culture at large. For the former, far too great of an emphasis is put on chasing performance as close to the theoretical ceiling as possible, and for the latter speedy progression is valued over fun. In short, optimization culture has taken over and is spoiling the soup.
There were actually more +12s run last week than +10s. It’s kind of the new +10 in a way.
11s are way low, 13s a bit above that, and 14s is where the real drop off happens.
Having been trying to get groups as ret this last week I’ve noticed the change even at 12s but definitely at 13s. Gotta go prot if I don’t want to spend 40 minutes applying. Especially feeling like it’s almost inevitable that if I don’t tank, the one we get is going to suck and brick the key on pull 1.
I don’t think we can really deny that Legion has been a big part of that problem when more keys are being run over there than in retail.
While I know we have some time yet, if they really do kill most of the addons I use, that is probably going to be the end of the road for me and lots of players. It’s all the small addons that have really made wow good. Little addons that do small things that make the gaming experience that much better.
But I wasn’t. 8 weeks in I was about average. The game took a sharp decline.
Numbers > Your opinion
Oh, so I’m lying when I get declined from 20+ keys for playing SV. Got it. I’m also lying when I can’t fill my +13 after an hour.
It’s just crazy how so many of you are just adversarial towards other players. I’m telling you what my experience. I have ZERO reason to lie.
Understand what? That we have competing forms of content that is spreading out the player base? This isn’t complicated.
remix is so time gated all you have to do is log on do the mythic raids and then log off.
8 weeks is the end for a chunk of people actually. its the first heavy drop in players since thats when alot get aotc and 3k and just stop playing. me n a friends guild dies out by week 8 till next season
Had a tank tank my 10 Floodgate, which would have been my 4th last week and given me my 2nd mythic slot in vault. Stupid pulls…made me get back on my tank and start climbing again as well.
But how much of this is because you can get up to keys in the what? 70s now easily enough? And can run 10 of them in the time it takes to run 1 in retail? And with week 1-2-3-4 corresponding with 8-9-10-11, it appears retail still eeks out ahead…barely (based on graph from your link)
Youre not 3k. Those pushing keys hit 3k after week 2-3. 8 weeks is extremely behind the curve
Keep blaming remix lol. As the seasons progress, activity drops off. You can already see Lemix key activity dropping off 25% from week 2 to week 3. Its the nature of the beast. As goals are completed, people take breaks
do you think blizzard shouldnt have dropped remix so peopel can have fun collecting content they didnt have the chance to before just so you can fill out your m+ groups?
We see a very large drop off the week remix was dropped. The concern is more that we have too many forms of content that are spreading the players base out. This is true for PvP as well. I’m just acknowledging that fact.
I think waiting another month would have been good.
When the final phase of Remix launches, and people bum rush it all in 1 day as usual, you’ll start to see a resurgence of activity in the live servers, especially as housing creeps closer.
