all of the people that want the mmr system to “just know” that a team whose avg mmr is 1600 “actually” deserves to be stuck over 2k, would probably be pretty easy to steal from with other, similarly simple lies about how math and or software work

But that’s an issue of how MMR works. You wouldn’t be able to ‘game the system’ if it wasn’t designed to allow for it. As is, the system allows for it, so it’s not the fault of the player.

How is this even remotely enforceable? So if a rank 1 player has a friend who’s low CR, should they not be allowed to play with them? What if a rank 1 starts a guild to help low CR players?
Again, it’s a fault of the system. If Blizzard didn’t want it to happen, they could more or less design it to insure this happens less. But as I said before, there are easy ways around it. So soft enforcement by design is the best method. If Blizz came out with a heavy hand and started punishing the most visible and most popular players, it would literally nuke the game.
Anyways… this is such a miniscule issue.
Players not wanting to play better to win the game and complaining about facing good players killed the game more than streamers doing viewers games.

R1 Petkick, we all know who you are and in some sense sure you want to fight players better than you. The difference is this, when you are learning and getting stronger at any skill you do not skip straight to the pros. If you do you learn nothing. Imagine what it would be like if you put a amateur boxer in the ring with Floyd Mayweather… He’d learn nothing he’d just get knocked out in the first round. It would not help him improve at all. To get better you need to be matched against an opponent of similar skill, or slightly (focus on the slightly) better. This is why all real competitions have brackets based on skill. You’re argument would say, hey never lifted weights before…go put 500lbs on the bench and rep it out. You’ll get stronger…I’m sure it won’t fall on you and crush your chest.

but anyways, this is specifically for players who play thousands and thousands of games with low mmr players helping them raise in like 400+ mmr. they have ways of tracking it.

Nah. It’s physically impossible to bench 500 as an intermediate. But if the 1700cr surv hunter rdruid team pressed their keybinds and moved their characters in a different pattern then they would defeat pikaboo and his 1100 viewer.

Why is this funny? That’s who he usually plays with if he is 1500mmr. I have fought pika in 2s a handful of times and won every game because his partner is literally a bot.

I do find it hilarious how many Glads pop out when you indicate they should have to play against other glads at all times. They appear out of nowhere to defend something that is just plain silly. And complaining about people getting 1 v 2 really does hit the heart of the issue. That 1 person that’s that much better should be in a different bracket. I imagine Jimmy Buckets could easily 1 v 2 most high school basketball players fairly easily. But hey he should be allowed to play against high school teams because it will help them get better lol.

If pika is intentionally deranking to play with viewers then yeah he should be banned. He’s just rando inviting anyone and queueing up and trying to win every game but still losing enough to lower his mmr because it’s a team game not a 1 man show.
You shouldn’t be forced to play with people on ur battle tag only. You should be able to queue with anyone anytime.
