Just lost two keys cause of these stupid freezes, just lovely…

Same issues since the beginning of TWW S2! I’ve noticed this in all forms of content, the first day of the season was the worst and it’s been more tolerable but still experiencing in M+ and raid.
I experience it doing auctions, with 2 accounts open on different monitors
I’ve tested this as well on my end, i have two setups, one at home with my parents and one at my own place.
My setup is:
Win11
4090
5900x
x470 taichi + 32gb ram @3200mhz (these been stable for over 7 years)
The setup with my parents is:
Win10
5700x3d
x470 Steel legend
32gb ram at @3200
amd 390x
Same exact files were copied over on two separate SSDs on a SATA drive.
My setup at my place has the freezes since the patch hit, keep in mind they are almost predictable when they do happen, its ussually as a boss mechanic in a dungeon comes out which has some special projected texture (i.e., bee boss in cinderbrew, Theater of pain either gladiator guy or the last boss). Ussually, when the freeze happens, i will die almost 99% of the time.
The setup at my parents, 0 damn issues, absolutely no problems. I don’t know anymore what exactly it is related to. On Reddit people have posted that it happens on both win10 and win11, so its not a windows problem… however, the only real big difference here is, my rig at my parents is running a 10 year old video card (390x). This suggests that at the driver level it is having some strange interactions with the newer set of gpus from at least the last 5 years. Keep in mind my 390x is running on legacy drivers since there are no longer any updates for it.
This is most definitely a problem with WoW at this point.
Thank you for being so thorough with your findings, i’ve been going insane trying to troubleshoot this on my end too playing with different installs, different drives, different gpu settings both in game and out of it. It is definitely not addon related as some claim.
Also having this problem: for me, chrome is the culprit. Don’t know why or how, but as long as I don’t have chrome open, don’t have the problem. Sometimes I can have chrome open with minimal or no affect; other times causes exactly what you describe: game freezes randomly for 3-10 seconds. I’d be interested to see if it’s the cause for others. I’ve read it could be part of the latest chrome update, windows update, or even the nvidia driver update which all correspond with the recent patch.
