But why? …
Yes, this is the “sane” response.
We suggest it because we know it works, and that it is, in fact, pretty easy.
lolol. That’s hilarious. How mad can you be?
I’m so very sorry other players don’t want to carry you.
Actually the “Make your own group” solution requires 2 conditions. Not just the group but you must have the key as well.
If you do not have a key then you need a group that will start building one with you. Your looking at a possible 3-5 hour time investment to get a key to where you may need it in order to get a upgrade.
I can see how players with limited time to play in get frustrated with a system that demands this much investment just to gain slight possible upgrades.
I would be a completely different ballgame if you could enter the dungeon and choose the level you want. Then make your own group would be a ideal solution.
So the alternative is that you should be allowed to join the key of someone who did all that work just because you “need” it?
Level 1 -> 2 -> 5 -> 8 -> 11 -> 13/14 -> 14/15 and then boom you have an awesome key!
If you can make a good group, the keys below 11 will only take like 15-20 minutes each. So yes, it will take you like 3 hours, but the next week gives you a key just one level lower than your last week’s highest! It is a one-time investment of 3 hours.
In game, the addon lists your score and highest timed key of the current dungeon. It also lists your highest key done and shows how many keys you’ve completed in the highest bracket you’ve reached, e.g. 7 10-14s in time. If you’ve played multiple roles, it’ll show the little tank/heals/dps icons next to your score with the first one showing what you do most. And if you’re on an alt but you’ve linked your main to your alt on raider IO, it will show your main’s score and role as well. It also shows your raid progression, e.g. 5/12 M or whatever, but I barely glance at raid progression for keys.
That’s all. Information, pure and simple. A good starting spot to learn people’s experience. How the leader chooses to use that information or what they do with it is up to them.
You operate under the assumption that you can get people to trudge thru 6 keys they don’t need with you. You also operate under the assumption that once it’s obtained that a person will want to keep this up weekly.
I only occasionally do mythic plus, But I go many weeks with no key whatsoever. Doesn’t mean I can’t do them, it just means I don’t like to do them often. Occasionally I do get a urge, then I remember I don’t have a key and I’m working with a system that is not forgiving with such things.
This is a good point. I imagine that you will want to do this with friends because they will want the high level keys as well. I suppose that people who PuG will have a much less enjoyable experience, but that is often the case with all types of endgame content in my experience. Expecting strangers to act like friends and invite you into their key (that they worked hard to build and likely want to push further) is a little unrealistic.
Even if you skip three weeks and you start with a 15, you end up with an 11, which is still pretty good!
Which is a one time investment. In your weekly chest you’ll get a key one level lower than you completed. Do you want instant gear? I mean a few hours to invest in your own key is nothing in the long run. Then you’ll always have a decent level key.
Wow has always been a game about time investment.
Group finder exists and it’s simple to make AND fill a group for ANY level key.
Your weekly cache gives you a key 1 down from the highest one completed the previous week. You’re not starting from scratch every week. And if you miss a week the next key you get from a dungeon will be 1 lower than your last previous key iirc.
If your pugging, there’s always people needing all levels of every dungeon. If you’re running with friends, have a few beers and enjoy each other’s company, it’s not about needs the run for them.
ok, tell us… who rejected you.
I’m going to guess a lot of people.
Inhumanoid scum
All bloodsuckers must be purged.
And it is all a downright pain in the rear to someone who only have a hour or so before raid to do something. I would prefer a key-less mythic plus system personally.
But back to my point “make your own group” is not as clean of a solution to this as you think it is. It comes with alot of condition’s and penalties. It’s has a hill to get over just to get back to normal.
Also this game is filled with introvert types that do not seek to be in the leadership role, nor do they like to pick people and fill groups. Not everyone is cut out to be the chief, some of us actually want to just quietly do our stuff in the background.
Sevenstorms, I offer you my blood. Take it and you will walk like a lion among sheep’s. Everyone will tremble before you.
Everything is true. God’s an astronaut. Oz is over the rainbow, and Midian is where the monsters live.
