What about multiple heroic track opportunities per week from delves, and unlimited hero gear from ritual sites? Granted that doesn’t help you with trinkets since non-raid/m+ options stink, but as for the rest of your slots there should be nothing stopping any casual player from full 276 ilvl.
Plus extra, thanks to the voidforge and slow accumulation of myth crests from delves.
All of this is nothing new. There are always some specs that are better than others.
One of the advantages of playing alts is that you have different characters in different classes. As for Fire Mage, that’s just a spec. According to WoWHead, Frost Mage is an A level spec. It is easy to make the switch.
I’m ok with that, but the difference in performance has to be small, you can’t have a spec doing 30% more damage than the others.
Wowhead is probably one of the worst sites to look for information, most guides and articles have 0 effort put into them.
According to Archon .gg, which is a million times more reliable than Wowhead or any of the like because they get the data from real logs, out of the 27 DPS specs there are, sorted by overall damage at keys from +7 to +22, Arcane is placed 22th, Frost is 23th and Fire is 25th.
Basically all Mage specs are bottom tier for M+. Unholy DKs are doing 182k, Devourer 174k, Demo Lock 170k, Aug 166k, and so on. Mages have an average of 142k on all 3 specs.
If only you guys made changes like this for the other half of the game that it seems the entire development team is deathly petrified of mentioning. Any ETA on the removal of said mode from all the neglect that’s been thrust upon it?
Because when I just looked, it shows Arms as an S-spec. But then I click on “show specs ranked”, and it shows Arms exactly in the middle for output.
Then I click another “sort by” link… and it’s an entirely different thing. The whole site makes sense to someone, but that someone isn’t me.
So maybe that was saying 3 people were able to push 200k on Arms, but the average is more like 140k? I dunno, bc I can’t make sense of what that site calls “organization.”
Scroll down a bit and where it says " DPS Rankings for +7 to +22 Mythic+" click on “show more” in purple color, then sort by DPS or whatever metric you want to see.
Instead of deleting your post you could have admitted that you were wrong, would’ve been much more honest, or at least you could have apologized for falsely accusing me of lying.
Anyways, in case anyone is curious, here’s a picture of the rankings.
Why do players jump onto every post that includes the words “tuning” or “adjustment” asking for things that have nothing to do with that announcement? Raid Tuning – “hey Blizz what about my class you neglected?!” Tank Adjustments – “hey Blizz what about my class you neglected?!” Ascendant Voidshard Adjustments – “hey Blizz what about my class you neglected?!”
Because it’s infuriating to see how they IMMEDIATELY nerf mythic raid as soon as Hall of Fame is full, but they ignore low performing specs FOR MONTHS.
Their priorities are not in line with what the players need.
There’s only one guaranteed way to get developer attention.
Instead, players just swap to FOTM specs or whatever the MDI/AWC is playing, and keep paying. Continuous money stream doesn’t give developers pause.
Substitute “Microsoft overlords” for developers as needed.
why are you using overall as the metric to die on here
plenty more goes into what makes something decent in m+ and you can make pretty much every spec work, damn near all of them are at or above 20s. and if your ask is to tune for 20+ then yeah thats just not happening and kind of falls right back into what you already complained about regarding the 1%
Sorry but this is utterly false. Listen to the actual mage players who have mained it for years, including myself. Fire is in a terrible state. It has everything focused into fire blast and combustion, making their entire damage output outside of it trash. It is inconsistent and as people said “it is a glass cannon without the cannon”.
It has terrible survivability and it and Arcane simply cannot get through damage like rot without some heavy assistance, Frost can barely even manage at times.
Both factually and statistically, as seen from the data, Mage is NOT in a good spot.
That’s how fire has been, longer than I can remember at that. It’s been an order of operations. But it takes nuance to nail to correctly. But like you said, fall off after combustion. But tbh that is most dps right now. Their dps revolve around their cd windows.
Frost mage is quite literally at the top right now. Easily top 2 dps overall. Their damage is insane. And they are top in popularity for raiding and 2nd for m+ next to ret.
Because it’s the most important metric? Literally meta DPS are always the ones that deal the most damage.
Meta not only affects the highest keys. Even in casual 12s and 14s people will not invite you if you’re playing an underperforming spec (be it justified or not, that’s another matter), that’s why tuning is so important.
95% of BM damage is when Beastial Wrath is is active. When that is on CD you might as well throw rocks, you’ll do more damage. You can be attacking a mob, if it doesn’t die during BW then it will still be alive for the next 30seconds while you wait for the CD. That shouldn’t happen and its broken.
