not for Loremaster (Val’sharah. there was a quest to kill him which was needed for the Balance of Power questline for the special artefact appearance but that is it
As a tank, zul sucked on heroic. I just got my face wrecked by that bleed. Ugh.
It was part of the Suramar questline.

You realize EPIC questlines very commonly require you to go into a raid. The quest is LITERALLY leading up to the raid and the quest is to take out the people attacking Zandalar.
Did you even read the quest text?
I’m calling it now… wait till it ends up being a requirement for pathfinder part 2 and flying. the meltdown will be real

While this has been Blizz’ modus operandi for quite some time (since TBC and WotLK for certain), finishing major storylines in raid content… I would say this has been a COLOSSAL error on their part.
Quite simply, not everyone wants to raid; and if anything, having the LFR option makes it worse because of how the community’s reputation for poor behaviour makes players actively dread having to do it.
You don’t HAVE to put the main storyline into raid content.
The game is an MMORPG, so some level of group content is to be expected… but raiding in a large group does NOT have to be the be-all, end-all approach to everything.
… if anything, this little revelation may have killed off what little interest in the storyline I had left… and it’s pretty close to the LAST thing keeping me interested in the game as a whole.
So you skipped the Voljin questline then because that required you to kill G’hunn and soak the blade in it. Where was this thread about that?
It is not like these quest are all that common. I have only seen 2 of them this entire expansion so far lol
You misundestand the issue: as it currently stands, the quest log shows the raid quest as the next step of the campaign, apparently blocking access to future chapters of the campaign. Hopefully this is just a UI quirk and it is not actually a gate.
I’m sorry that it is such a distressing concept to you that there exist people who don’t raid. I do not mean to give you culture shock, but unfortunately your I-don’t-care-about-you attitude is exactly why I have to be on alert on and seek clarification over issues like this.
The follow up quest for the raid should’ve been to kill jaina on mythic difficulty. Tired of all these other players getting to experience a story at the same time as mythic players
