i dont think you understand what is happening
you charge the boss, he detects you arent in melee range because blizz for some reason has decided this check will come early unlike other similar bosses
he detects you arent in melee range and casts windburst, windburst is an attack that the boss does when his target is not in melee range that causes 100% of his weapon dmg in nature dmg as a ranged attack
you should cast spell reflect while charging the boss so you are not hit by this ability
as for the rest of the fight, you should be fine as a prot warrior. yes the rest of the team is gonna suffer because it is a rough fight but as a prot warrior, you have many tools to mitigate anything he throws at you as well as the buff on the boss can be dispelled
so communicate that to whoever can remove it
someone help this guy please. either he is not really warrior or he thinks he knows more. it has to be one or the other.
How does one charge the boss and the boss thinks you are not in melee range and cast a spell. Again calls for internal testing ?

your first post in this thread is you complaining about charging the boss and being hit for 80% of your life
youre allowed to be wrong here and learn something its ok
just assume i’m more familiar with the mechanics if you want because that is what is happening when you charge him. other bosses that dont move have a slight delay before they perform their “i cant hit you attack”
this one doesnt and results in you being hit for 80% when you charge in. you should reflect that

in the posts you have read because you would have to to quote me, i stated other bosses dont behave this way. this boss is very much an anomaly in this behavior

i dont think its a matter of tuning.
the boss performs his ranged attack on pull. that is a bug in my opinion.
idk how other tanks handle it frankly so idk what it is like. prot war can ignore this issue but i’m not familiar with how other tanks pull the boss
its possible bears monks and pallys laugh at it with some inherent magic dmg reduction they have
no one mentioned rating so plz dont project whatever inadequacy you feel onto me
I typically run in until JUST before melee range. My bear will charge at nearly minimum range. My pally may lob avenger’s shield just as I enter melee. I suspect the bug is that for some reason, charge is initiating combat the moment it is pressed instead of when it lands. Not sure if bear wild charge has the same issue because I’ve only run it on very low keys.
Also, no one is going to talk about the disparity of healers in Nokhud ?
40.08% - resto druids cleared NO +15
24.8 %- Evo
16.18% - Priests.
I know Druids are at a nice spot but constant hots very unbalanced spike bursts should be a good tell.
HotS have proven to be OP this season…it’s great! mobile healer meta…

But the meta shifts when you jump to 20 and above keys - Resto 43% - Evo - 31% from 24%.
so once you are in 400-410 range the damage should smooth out. But right now, the burst is too high.
All this data wont be relavant next week - but to those are saying meh its fine, clearly they are doing or looking at it properly.
Here’s the real problem; you’re charging into middle of boss. Standing in bad. You can’t get the debuff or you get wrecked.
If you stand a bit away from boss and not in the very middle puddle thing, don’t get debuff, you’d take WAY less damage.
This is a tanking issue by you, not the fight.
Tempest feels like the worst boss in keys so far. That or the giant tree.
I check guides, create weak aura, ask the team to take care of certain things before the encounter as I pug.

This is what people who think the fight is hard don’t get.
If the healer stays at 10 stacks, the fight is easy.
It’s a rot fight with basically no 1-shots if you screw up.
I haven’t played Protection Warrior for a long time. So forgive me in advance…
Do you charge in to build rage? If so would it be better to pop a rage potion [1] and run in with taunt instead? Maybe then you’d have rage to use for defensives?
Also from some posts upthread maybe it is a charge/timing thing? So if charge was avoided things would be different. Dunno… just guessing.
[1] - Are rage potions still available and working? I remember carrying them for my Bear and Prot Warrior in prior expansions. (Like… maybe Legion?)
