Raging Maelstrom bugged

As per the most recent patch notes for 12.0.1, Raging Maelstrom is now supposed to stack rather than reset whenever you use a Maelstrom Weapon spender.

For example, if you spend 5 Maelstrom Weapon and then another 5 Maelstrom Weapon, Raging Maelstrom should be at 10 stacks. As of right now on the beta and pre patch that is not working and it is back to resetting stacks. So if you have 7 stacks of Raging Maelstrom and then use a 5 Maelstrom Weapon spender you will have 5 stacks of Raging Maelstrom.

Here are the patch notes: (“Raging Maelstrom stacks no longer reset with each Maelstrom Weapon spender casts.”

Ive already made a thread about this, but didn’t originally realize it was a bug. At least that means they’ll be fixing it…

I know you did, making another just for visibility because we really need them to fix this, our healing is cooked otherwise.

And just to explain the timeframe: On beta about 3 weeks ago, Raging Maelstrom was stacking correctly. About a week before they released the current version of beta to pre patch it randomly reverted to resetting stacks again. So now both beta and pre patch have the Raging Maelstrom bug. Its persisted a little too long already

Well, more visibility is good. Definitely don’t want them to ignore this one since it’s kind of spec breaking.

You’re being too nice here. There is no “kind of” to it- Enhancement is basically cooked with this bug. Its on the level of another having their defensive cooldowns not working.

Yeah its fixed, feels great. I still wish they didnt mess with the cast time via the Raging Maelstrom nerf initially since it still kinda sucks if you have 5-6 stacks of Raging Maelstrom and want to spend those its a cast.

But at least now we have 10 stacks far more often.

I got a chance to play with it. I agree that being able to instant cast above 5 stacks would be better, but the stacks accumulating is leagues better than it was. Enhancement will have access to a heal every other spender at minimum- that’s functional.

Now the only thing left to do is to convince Blizzard that the heal needs to be stronger.

Omg, what did they do to enhance. I got on today to play and I found when I press lightening bolt or chain lightening even though i’m at min 5 stacks it starts to cast the spell. This feels atrocious and has borderline ruined the spec for me.

No, that’s not correct. You reach 100% reduction of cast time and 100% increased damage at 5 stacks. Anything over 5 stacks increase the damage a further 20% up to 200% at 10 stacks thanks to Raging Maelstrom and Overflowing Maelstrom.

If you are having a cast time on lightning bolt or chain lightning that’s a bug.
