Races you would team up

So the Assault in the Maw have two covenants team up to deal with a particular area. If this concept was applied to the Factions, which races would you team up with each other(both intra/extra factional).

I’d love to see Draenei/gnome team up. It would be interesting to see the Alliance’s most Technologically/Arcanologically advanced races team up and see what sort of mayhem they could cause.

Orcs/Dwaves for an extra factional one. I mean these two have generally been mortal enemies(especially with the dark iron rejoining). Being forced to work together is bound to prove “interesting”.

Night Elves and Worgen for obvious reasons. They always stood together and Tyrande and Genn seem to be the only Alliance leaders with a little bit of sense left, although the story is holding them back. So that would be another thing they have in common apart from the other aspects.

Night Elves and Tauren if you ignore the recent genocide the Tauren participated in

There is only one answer for me.

Goblins and Gnomes.

The two races trying to one-up the other with their tech advances, the trash talking, and general hilarity whenever those two collide.

Although, the Blood Elves and Darkspear Trolls would be fun, too, and perhaps even the Zandalari thrown in there. Elves and Trolls fighting together.

hear me out… Blood Knights and Lightbound now that would be a mutually beneficial partnership and drama… it would be finger pointing all around

Lightbound: “you enslaved a Naaru? and brought the Legion to your Sunwell!”

Blood Knights “oh yeah? you tried to lightforge a demon! How did that work out for you?”

Lightbound: “Illidan is the worst.”

Goblins and night elves. Just to look at the self-igniting wooden mechanism.
And their joint business plan. Or taking out a loan. “I have endless resources, give me money for woodworking and I will pay your descendants many times more.”

I probably misunderstood the message. Anyway.

Well if it has to do with anything Scourge/Maw related then I guess Blood Elf and Forsaken team ups would be ideal.

I’m weird but I’m kinda hoping we see Blood Elves and Draenei team up again one day. It’s time for Shattered Sun 2!

But otherwise I’d love to see Worgen and Kul Tirans team up a bit. Blood Elves and Nightborne. And perhaps most controversially…

Forsaken and Humans.

The big reunion between Lordaeronian Forsaken and Humans in Before the Storm was really nice… and if for some reason the forces of death make their way back to Silverpine Forest or something (They’re looking for the Sepulcher after all :stuck_out_tongue: ) I’d love see a big “For Lordaeron” moment where Humans and Forsaken put aside their differences and beat the hell out of the proto-Scourge. Could go a long way towards healing the emotional scars of both sides… and damn it I just think it’d be pretty boss.

I’d revive the TBC time draenei-night elf cooperation. But it’s been a while. Draenei are not quite the same draenei and night elves are not quite the same night elves as where it all started. Oh well.

Vulpera and Worgen

There was a time when I’d say that the Night Elves and the Tauren would be a natural pair.

To cop a Kul Tiran saying… that ship has left the docks.

On the other hand, Worgen is probably the easiest Alliance race for the Night Elves to relate to.

Other obvious pairs…

Blood Elves and Forsaken given ties that literally date centuries.

Orcs, Trolls, and Tauren, the original core Horde.

I wanna see not only Old Team ups like Void Elves/High Elves with Humans and Ironforge Dwarves and Wildhammer but also new team ups like Void Elves working with the Night Elves, You know Elven Power, Draenei with Dwarves, and Gnomes True Alliance Engineering Team, Worgen and Night Elves because why not of course, Humans and Void Elves, and etc.

Also Same with the Orcs of Trolls and Tauren but also Forsaken and Blood Elves, Trolls meet with Vulpera, Orcs, Blood Elves, and Goblins, and etc.

What about Draenei through? Would they help out the Worgen and Night Elves since they were close at one time until Blizzard forgot about them in BFA.

I think a Zandalari and Pandaren (either faction or just the ones from the mainland) team up would be interesting. Given their history as old foes, it would be fun to see them showing one another respect and utilizing their past experiences fighting each other to instead take out a common enemy.

A team up of the Mag’har Orcs and the Forsaken could be pretty interesting too. Iron Horde tech tweaked by the Royal Apothecary Society could be truly horrifying in its capacity to produce devastation. Also I’d just really love for Kaz the Shrieker to interact with some zombies that weren’t controlled by the Botani. Share a few laughs, and a few skulls, ya know?

I started braindumping an entire stupid fanfic quest idea for an example before realizing nobody would give a crap, but I think tauren + forsaken are overlooked, given that one’s solely responsible for bringing the other into the horde.

I’d like anything that includes dwarves, as they are my favorite race.

I’m partial to the Mountaineer/Rifleman and any dwarf in plate armor, so combining them with Night Elves would be a treat. Yea, it sounds like Legolas and Gimli, but I love anything nature oriented and they are pretty much that.

Something else I’d think would be fun would be dwarves, gnomes and goblins working together. They all use a lot of tech but the dwarves are a bit more grounded when it comes to what works consistently. A gnome was my very first D&D character, so I have a fondness for them. Since they were forced to leave their home and live in Ironforge, that fondness continued. Goblins, when let loose, are simply a riot. lol

Draenei and Night Elves, because I find it seriously annoying how little they’ve actually teamed up, given they’re neighbours. For some reason Blizzard sees fit to have them team up with humans all the time but almost never themselves, even though the first meeting between the Draenei and an Alliance race was with a Night Elf.

They’re the two longest lived races on the Alliance, they both have been seriously wronged by the Orcs (the Draenei more so), they had a portion of their people, and their leader, turn on them and nearly wipe them out for the sake of the Legion. With the inclusion of the Rangari, there’s even more in common as well.

The two races might occupy different niches but there are enough similarities that the differences would just make it more fun. “The Light we call shall cast the shadows from which you strike.” is a line that practical writes itself. How the Draenei were written out of the War of Thorns was beyond frustrating. Tired from fighting the Legion is one thing, but these are Draenei, at least a handful of them would have come to help.

If you count someone waking up and screaming “EREDAR! DEMON!” You’re right, but as I recall the first Alliance that you meet that you actually have real conversations with are Humans and Dwarves.

It’s my impression that the Night Elves let the Draenei settle on their islands because they were radiation soaked wastelands that the Night Elves themselves had no truck over.

As for the settlement in Ashenvale, notice that they were essentially put right next to Orgrimmar’s back door. , next door to Satyrs and literally across the road from an Orc lumber camp. I presume this was Tyrande’s way of using them as a buffer between the Horde and other threats and her Night Elves. Unlike the Worgen, she did not exactly lay out a welcome mat for the Draenei anywhere else.

I think you could get some neat storylines out of Tauren and Vulpera. Have some Tauren go back to their traditional nomadic lifestyle and maybe pair up with some Vulpera traveling beyond the traditional areas they used to live in.

Just keep the Tauren away from Night Elves, that always seems to end up as Night Elves doing everything and Tauren following behind copying them.
