May be an unpopular opinion but IMO this to me shows who has real skill because they don’t have to depend on things to show/tell them what to do. It shows they can use their own brain and cognitive skills to overcome an obstacle, true independents. I believe Blizz should axe all combat addons. It’ll make the game more challenging and more fun and give a REAL sense of accomplishment.

It could open it a bit more when you consider that top teams hire people to make addons for them to help them do the bosses but at the end I think the biggest difference is gonna be that they’re timegating raids releases as the first tier has 3 raids so more teams might be progging on the last boss at the same time.

The ‘best’ players may also use a lot of addons, but even without them they’re still more than head and shoulders above the rest of the playerbase.

That the only thing keeping you from RWF is addons is absolute embarrassing cope.

Race to World First stopped being important to me when Blizzard destroyed servers into whatever this is now.
I haven’t had rivalries like I did against the players, “Offense and Defense,” and a special shout out to Dotdotdot…

There will be larger and more frequent nerfs, thats for sure.
Why would it not be the same people? Even if they do worse it’s not like others were on their level when they also had access to the same addons. If everyone shuffles down a few pegs, they’re still on top.
And when are you going to show your real skills?
If you think that you’ll be better because they don’t have addons, I’m sorry, you’ll be as mediocre as you are now after this. People will adapt. You’ll remain the same.

the loss of addons isn’t going to mean that suddenly Joe McCasual is competing in the RWF. the same top players are going to remain the same top players and all the baddies? still bad.

Yes they do. Maximilian, the leader of team liquid, makes YouTube videos and he has talked about how they use addons. He seems to have mixed feelings about it.
Generally he feels it is OK but he has concerns about people using raid timing sources that are created independently from the game. He feels they may or may no get banned leading teams to have to decide to use them or not use them.
DPS specs are playing like Ret, plus there will be a DBM version built in-game. Raid encounters are also going to be simpler, instead of what you get with Frac
He said something that the general audience doesn’t get.
There will be things that will be used and Blizzard can’t do anything about it.
It will be a next step.
For example, Max does raid lead watching a player stream over discord.
What will happen eventually:
They’ll stream one player screen, probably tank or someone with good perspective.
They’ll build a program in python that will recognize the patterns in the screen, and text too.
It will be run in a computer that has no WoW running.
It will then send alerts via audio to the players, either via discord or another software, that is completely transparent to Blizzard and they will never be able to detect or anything. Just like DBM does.

they actually dont use alot of addons, its mostly elvui, Dbm/bigwigs/ Method or liquid raid notes, and WA’s that they build as they’re fighting and learning the bosses from scratch.
