Quitting WoW and going back to Collage?

The only streamers people watch now are twenty-something girls wearing cat ears and wearing a tight tank top. The web cam isn’t focus on their face too.

why do you need the college? something specific?
If its just generalities, screw taking on more debt.
I went to a 2 year trade school and was making 100-150 an hour back in the late 80s doing my own thing.
if I were you, id find a way to go that route instead.

If you know advertising youre certainly able to do what i do…that was pretty much my field with also being trained in running the offset equipment that I bought way back when.
YOu could easily apply your field to building websites…and once theyre built charging to keep them maintained.
I charge $800 for a 5 page site I can build in less than 8 hours…often less than 4 hours.
Ive made as much as just over 30 grand for building a site that took less than a week.
Plus you can set up your own sites, get some interesting content, and make a lot of ad money from google adsense and other ad providers.

Anything to keep from taking on more college debt, if you ask me

internet sure helps the companies with the jobs, not so much the applicants who have to fight for a job over a field of others looking for the same job.
Markets seem to be overly saturated with the same degrees, but not enough jobs to go around.

Do you wonder, after these thoughtful and encouraging replies, if he stuck around to read the comments?

I got my degrees while playing WoW. It’s not like this is a full time job. That would have been my full time job, and even my kiddos.

Keep playing WoW, your pvp skills will matter in World War 3 Gold Ultimate Reality

Of all the things my UCSD degree got me, spelling was not one of them. If you heard the diction of some of my professors…

You could literally just do both. I worked a full time job 50+ hours a week and still found time to raid 4 days a week.

Don’t be a dummy.

Go back to school regardless.

I feel like it was a “concern troll” type of post making fun of WoW player stereotypes. However, it did create a discussion topic that is actually valuable for others who do care.

Balancing education, career path, income, hobbies - takes some thought!

Goal 1 is to be debt free, even if it takes longer to acquire the education or training. I had no debts out of college, had a small student loan when I went back that was paid off within a year. I have zero debts now except my mortgage.

Money does not by happiness, it buys freedom. The freedom to not be in debt so you can tell others to take a hike when they ask you to do something unethical, immoral, dangerous, etc. Or when they simply have zero respect for you as a colleague and team member.

I never wanted a huge house and stuff. I wanted a cottage and the ability to tell people to get off my lawn. Also, yes, I have quit a job over ethics before. Thankfully I was in a financial position that I could and my skill set was in demand enough I could get a better job.

People should be thinking about all those things early on.

Who treats these as mutually exclusive? This smells trolly AF.

college degrees are like an achievement you need to get invited to wow groups easier. no actual indication of skill.

Retire young, learn to live in the new hyperinflation world where you might get enough to eat this evening. Pray hard not to get sick. Don’t have any high risk hobbies.

…dont get wet, or eat after midnight.

Bright light will kill you though

Collage: is a technique of art creation, primarily used in the visual arts, but in music too, by which art results from an assembly of different forms, thus creating a new whole.

talking about school ie university, collages, academeys etc not talking about art …
