I’ve been playing my orc ele shaman in Arenas and have been getting absolutely melted by everyone! more so than any other class I’ve played this season.
Gear is Blood Token / Honor with no Conquest level items.
My question is this, does it impove at all with gear or should I just call it quits and accept I’m bad at shaman?

Gear is definitely important, as we are still in the first half of the season. I myself made the mistake of half gearing enhance, before switching back to ele leaving me at a pretty nasty state gearwise (and 2k mmr), leading to some rough matches.
What talents are you running defensively?
I’ve played around with them all. Some buy a few seconds but unless there is a healer on me I die very quickly.
I’ve found resto to be a little better. Going to stick with it until I reach conquest cap.
Do you always play with a 2hander/staff in PvP? Was trying to check your gear situation but seems you may have changed it since going resto.
There quite a few defensives we have that you may want to look into. Definitely spec into dmg reduction talent when your pet is out. Our season 2 gear helps us take advantage of that talent a bit more.
It will help as you get your vers up too.
Are you playing grandpas or Stormbringer?
In pvp I use one hand and shield. Been doing Grandpas. I have also been using the damage reduction talents.
I got a few conquest items so now get the 2 piece bonus and have the rings/neck now. Its managable in battlegrounds because there is room to escape. But still being melted in Arenas.
As far as I can tell gameplay is running away, using instant casts, until your big burst window opens up again.
This isn’t too far off lol. Make sure to use all your CC to help with this or line up a kill windows. Ele’s kit is pretty solid with Purge, thunderstorm, CC totems, grounding, etc.
It may just take you time to get it down.
