I’m looking for the source of how replies and posts get flagged. And if there is any mechanism to get the reporting parties investigated / information into how they are determined to be the case ?
Just need to understand this forum more as I fully intend on being an active user for the foreseeable future and want to make sure I’m able to engage within the code of conduct, as I’m very confused into my recent flaggings and need to make sure they are being determined properly/giving me guidance into what part was problematic so I can stop doing so in future.
I have been in all my replies, but most of the responses I see are genuine speculation and my posts continuous get flagged and my posts removed. Is it one individual/blizzard employee or these MVP’s ? I just really want to understand the process of that at the time and the appropriate authority to get that review process started if any.
MVPS have no power what so ever there just players like u and me just green txt if ur post are being removed but ur not being actioned then there not quite breaking the rules but borderline and not realy useful or relevant to the conversation.
Given the fact you jump into threads, talking about your account actions (when you jump into someone else thread to do such is against the rules). The blues here allow someone seek help for their account action, but that ends when someone try to rally against the forums for their own goals.
Never once have any call to arms in any way shape or form, I don’t appericiate the dishonesty in this statement.
I’ve given clear details about my experience to set expectations for the OP. Of all my replies with 0 speculation unlike alot of people in this forum.
All ban due to cheats and hacks should be a summary message:
Nobody here can assist you in any way shape or form / anybody from blizzard escalate your matter via this forum
We can only speculate
This is the last queue timer is X
This above message got flagged ( added a few more words ), but again I feel there is some form of moderation in this forum that’s taking place which is to silent people trying to give people the reality of the situation and encouraging people to speculate to engage in a conversation that has no purpose here effectively.
Posts get flagged by other posters when they think the post violates the forum rules. They use the flag options under the post. There is no way for you to find out who flagged a post. It takes multiple flags to cause it to be greyed out.
No, there is no mechanism to get people investigated for reporting you. They are free to do that. The exception would be if they use multiple characters/accounts to flag the same post. That is abusing it.
How are moderation decisions made? Moderators review the post and determine if it actually breaks the forum rules and policies. If it does, they may edit it, delete it, remove the whole thread, and even suspend the poster.
When a post gets enough flags the forum software auto greys it out and tells you that it is pending Mod review. It can still be read by clicking on it. That is automated. Nothing happens to the poster at that point. A Moderator is the only one who can make changes to the post or penalize a user, if they agree the post is trolling/spam/non-constructive, etc.
You are upset you got banned for multiboxing software. You are upset that Blizzard won’t tell you EXACTLY what they caught you with. You are upset they won’t tell you how to multibox in a way that they will approve. You are upset with the customer support experience related to bans as a whole. You posting about your “experiences” in every thread about account penalties is the opposite of helpful. It comes off as you having an agenda to spam your dismay and frustration. Making every thread into a thread about you. You likely got reported for spam or trolling.
Moderation isn’t automated. If enough players flag your post, it is grayed out. Not hidden, not removed, not edited, just grayed out.
An actual human moderator reviews those flags. In the CS forum, that moderator is typically one of our Support Forum Agents. If the post is just unhelpful or unproductive, it’s typically just removed with no penalty applied to the poster. The mods in this specific forum only penalize a player’s posting privileges as a last resort or in the case of an egregious disregard for the forum code of conduct.
It generally take 3-5 flags to shadow a post, and that doesn’t do anything until a moderator steps in a takes a look at it. The players have no real power to moderate, if it was automated like you claimed, there would be a LOT more suspensions from the forums judging by the amount a nonsense that goes on.
So knock it off with the “It’s automated” garbage.
You asked about investigating the people who FLAG posts. No, you can’t do that. The flagging message is automated. The MODERATION is NOT automated. If your post is deleted, or your account penalized, that is a human making that decision.
Concerns are different from conspiracy theories, please don’t suggest I’m spreading a rumour, I’m saying there could be mechanisms bad actors could abuse that. Not that’s it’s occuring.
Well that’s concerning comment around community engagement even more so after I gave an example of how you could be causing some harm to individuals who may find situations like this difficult.
Brilliant! I will engage with this, do we know if we can request a response / discussion with this party or is just a feedback no contact after the fact ?
Most everything you want to know is in the EULA, Codes of Conduct, and Support articles. This one covers information about deleted posts and has the link to appeal an actual forum moderation decision.
