Question for BFA TimeWalking: Loot Tables

Timewalking with BFA dungeons will happen sometime in the future, though probably not until 10.1 or 10.2 (or a half-patch). But a question about the loot tables for the dungeons has occurred to me. This also applies to when they will add BFA dungeons to the rotating dungeon season (Right now, it’ll be MOP to Legion as before doesn’t seem to work with the affixes and after is too soon).

In the past, TW dungeons just gave us an updated variation of the set loot with adjusted ivls. Usually, the basic TW gear was catch-up while Keystone is updated to the current high level loot. There was really no issue there, but BFA had something different that didn’t happen before or after: Azerite powers.

As many will recall, the heads, shoulders, and chests of BFA dungeons (and the expansion in general) had special powers that were unlocked by the Heart of Azeroth necklace. But we will not have that when BFA TW comes, so the question comes to me, how will the gear loot be handled?

Will we be given non-item powered versions of the gear? This seems to be the logical course of action. They will just have adjusted ilvls for the game.

Another action that could be done is give us the items but with locked in special traits. Not game-winning, just little buffs for people. This would be good for if and when BFA dungeons are in the current expansion’s keystone rotation.

I was simply questioning this since a similar issue with Legion dungeons came where they don’t have any weapon drops, which made sense at the time, because we had artifact weapons. But now it may help some people if they added just some thematic weapon drops to the TW loot tables.

If I could gamble, I’d put my money down on exactly how it works now in Mechagon…

Not that slapping the same pieces with stats couldn’t be a possibility, it would be more work and resources I suspect they wouldn’t want to use.
