[Quest Transmog] Are they retro active for Warbands?

I have never had this happen for any quest before. If it wasn’t a reward listed in the window, I have never received an appearance for it.

What I don’t understand yet is, for exemple:

If I get a plate piece on my mage, then it unlocks the appearance for my paladin on the same warband, right?
But what about characters outside the warband? Let’s say I have a DK. Can he also use the appearance my mage got, or is it only inside the warband thing?

There are no characters outside of the Warband.

Warband = Account
They’re basically changing the word account-wide for Warband.

It’s not only the character screen 4.

I have. It mosly happens with weapon rewards, as most armor you can unlock you’d also be eligible for from the quest. It was a lot more common to see before they normalized all the older gear to stat swap. (It’s also a feature I explicitly tested for back when the system first came out.)

Edit: I should also add it isn’t always consistent at showing it in chat, but checking for the appearance in your collection will show it.

I have never once received a 2h sword appearance when choosing a staff reward on my druid. Every single time I’ve done the Emerald Dream quests just recently on alts, those weapon appearance unlocks happened on the character that could choose what was in the reward screen, NOT stuff that did not appear.

Druids can’t unlock swords for transmog currently.

Edit: Also, if the quest is rewarding a cosmetic item you click to unlock and not an actual item, you only get the one you chose. Because the rewards in that case aren’t actually equipable items.

I don’t get agi dagger appearances on my Druid either. If it’s not in the quest reward window, you don’t get the appearance.

Otherwise, I wouldn’t be going back to do these quests on other characters.

I have a feeling that for quests, it’s not going to change. I still think that if it’s not in the rewards window, the game isn’t going to register it.

I could be wrong, but this seems to only be meant for dungeons and raids.

Right and I believe many of the quest transmog will have look-alike from other sources and only few specific looks are unique to quests rewards.

It would be such a great change.

They do get lazy with questing and dungeon gear sometimes. Not to mention BoE drops. So we may get what we’re after easier that way.

In Dragonflight we had world transmog of about 5 different shades.

Oh yeah, totally. They do the different colorations. I just meant that we could get more of the same transmog through green drops for questing, too. :slight_smile:

As I said, it’s something I literally tested. Unless they made a stealth change at some point, it works how I described. When I can get to my computer, I’ll see it I can find a test case.

Which quest specifically are you talking about. I can probably use that as a check. I’ve really only quested on my druid in Dragonflight, so it should be easy for me to see.
