yea i’m in the same boat. i can get him down to around half hp and he just wipes the floor with me. no tactics seem to work, he just hits too hard and i cant hit hard enough. level 59 character. sadly no one around to try to help me either.

Still not able to finish this quest. Necrogg is still overtuned compared to all the other mobs. It is impossible to complete at lower levels. Please fix this.

Not sure why its taking Blizzard so long to fix this. This bug shouldn’t have been going on for this long.

Also having this issue. No NPC’s spawn for me and Necrog just F’s me in the A in a few hits. Impossible to do enough damage to him even while button mashing like a fiend. Blizzard please help.

Also having this issue, level 44 and I can’t complete this for the reasons previously mentioned. Submitted a bug report but I’m not holding my breath.

I was finally able to complete this! It still seems bugged in the same way everyone else has mentioned (can’t do enough damage and when dropped to 0 health you stop to heal and mobs reset), but I noticed that the gore ability does a lot more damage than the cleave, so I just didn’t use the cleave ability at all during the fight. Gore and keep turning 180 degrees on top of Necrogg, hopefully get knocked back so you can use the spear ability to close distance again, gore, repeat. I didn’t use the cleave ability once for the boss battle. It was close and I had maybe 10% health at the end, but I did also notice the Survivalist heal procced a few times when I was below 10%. Level 55 priest. Hopefully others can get some usage out of this tactic.

still broken. impossible at lvl 42 maybe? get him to 90% and then do the stupid regen thing and he resets. Do you have more HP or do more damage if you’re a higher level?

It even made its way to Remix. The scaling issues there start where the issues in this one end, level 65. I would bet my hand they’re related to each other, even more so knowing neither had been fixed. Adding to report that this quest is STILL broken as I try to help my wife unlock the highmountains as well.

All of you who are having issues, have you tried the solution that was mentioned which was to level to 65 to complete the quest.

The quest itself isn’t broken, you are under level and undergeared to complete the quest.

I did not. But I guess I will give it a shot. Thanks for pointing out that getting high level made it doable. Had really wanted to just hop on with my friends in Mop remix with the high mountain, but didn’t have a max level horde toon so was excited to get my 28 lock to 40 and unlock em in a few hours.

The comments here were really helpful! Ran into the same problem with the final NPC resetting his health. Went back down the hill, waited a few minutes, and an NPC showed up. I followed them and we were able to kill the big NPC. High mountain unlocked for remix!

I had the same problem at lvl 51. Waited on top of the mountain on the right side so I would get no agro but still see the boss walk around. After about 15mins a Tauren NPC came running up the hill to kill the boss I just hit the boss and got it done

Found a workaround, I was a solo Lvl 48 DH. No waiting around for an NPC/player or anything like that.

Head up the back of the mountain to get near to where the elite is, or some other way of getting close to him without triggering aggro.

Then, click Log Out, so that the timer starts. While the timer is counting down, unmount from being Huln, and then cancel the Log Out.

The elite and the rest of the enemies should stick around for much longer than normal (around 10 secs or so). Once you’re back in your normal body, tag the elite and he’ll stay as long as you keep attacking. It took me probably 3 minutes to actually kill him, but he was there and fighting the whole time and ticked the quest when killed.

Wow this worked. It’s been over 3 months and it’s still bugged. Maths are too hard for Blizzard it seems.
