The map here shows exactly where they came from, nothing hidden, no mystery continent
sigh
That’s like saying that I’m from England, because that’s where the U.S. was settled from.
Not even a close simile
Okay. Show me a Hallowfall Arathi who was born in the Eastern Kingdoms.
Deflecting now, fascinating.
((Little does he know this is actually the answer, she was a child when she boarded the ship leaving…))
Kick rocks. I’m done talking to you.
The Arathi in Hallowfall came from a hidden continent beyond the oceans on either side of the map we have now. That’s the place I’m talking about.
My expectation is that they won’t be segregating characters all that much given the theme of reunification
I think initially they’ll be segregated and then re-unified along the expansion. Could be early, or maybe late during the final season. Though Expansions are never what they seem at first anyways. So, perhaps there’s twists and turns along the way.
My head canon is that the high elves have been hiding out somewhere, and there where we will find out about in Midnight.
Idk how they’re going to revamp Quel’Thalas. It’s not like they can just make the zones bigger. They have to fit on the continent. It’s three zones max.
Never good to rely too much on headcanon (also high elves have been welcomed back for several expansions)
Yea, you’re right. Do you have any hopes for how the expansion plays out?
Just a shot in the dark but i’m guessing they’ll make quel’danas where the sunwell is located larger for it to be its own zone and then also revamp Silvermoon and the surrounding forest to make it larger and also revamping the ghostlands. They could always expand east of Silvermoon and make Zul’aman and the Amani have a good amount of focus too
I know better than to have expectations even if the concept hooked me as much as DF.
I’m honestly not really invested in the story. I do like speculating though, and then seeing how what happens is completely different!
Also que’thalas as it is now is just an instance that’s actually attached to outland not the Eastern kingdoms itself. With the portal to it being in the plague lands. Though its anyone’s guess as to how blizz is gonna go about this since they haven’t revamped any old zones in this manner before
My main assumptions - Thas’alah will be relevant, restoring the shrines in Ghostlands (destroyed by Arthas) might actually be relevant, there will be a lot of elves, like Legion levels of elves at least.
They might walk back some characterizations to be a lot more like WC3.
When people refer to the ‘hidden continent of arathor’ they are talking about the land mass that is beyond the Storming Sea. Aka where the modern day Arathi Empire resides. Aka where the half-elf Arathi we encounter in Hallowfall came from.
Sometime after the troll wars (2800 bdp), a group of humans and high elves sailed away from Lordaeron / Quel’thalas and never returned. It was presumed that they died but in truth they went beyond the Storming Sea and established a new Empire. Over time this Empire became half-elves, or simply ‘Arathi’. Around 15 years ago (late TBC) their Emperor had a vision and sent an expedition to find the source. This expedition ultimately found their way underneath Khaz Algar and found the crystal they would call Beledar. Although there were a lot of causalities.
However, as I have read it in game that never happened, they wound up in Hallowfall
Where did the 15 years come from? I must have missed it
I mean they are part elf, and with that comes incredible longevity
Wenren Althal, the sole mage capable of opening portals stated that they had arrived over a decade ago.
I was a mere apprentice when we set out, over a decade ago
Although Wenren doesn’t say 15 years exactly, he does say ‘over a decade ago’ which implies a timeframe of 11-19 years.
Originally Wenren did say 15 years on the beta, but the dialogue was changed to be more vague
I was a mere apprentice when we set out, fifteen years ago.

Sadly Wenren is murdered during his side quest.
Because of this, some people including myself speculate that the Arathi Emperor received his vision around the time M’uru’s core was used to cleanse the Sunwell. Which was around 15 years ago from TWW’s launch in the lore.
As TWW takes place in Year 42 adp [after dark portal] while TBC was in Year 26 adp. With the Battle for the Sunwell during TBC taking place towards the end of that year.
Obviously stuff that never made to live should be taken with a grain of salt. So we don’t have an exact date on when the Arathi arrived in Hallowfall.
