You need an actual group to get the hearts, they can’t be soloed by a fresh 60. Finding a group for these is pretty much not possible right now 95% of the week really.

No they aren’t.

Quality-of-life refers to automating mindless housekeeping tasks, convenient time-savers, and undoing common mistakes. Not to actual gameplay progress.

Things like:

  • Auto-updating your action bars when you learn a new rank of an ability, instead of needing to do it manually
  • Flying to a faraway flight point with one click, instead of having to land at each intermediate flight point and manually click on the next one
  • Two-hour tradable window for raid loot, when someone makes a mistake rolling on an item

Faster/easier ways to acquire loot are not quality-of-life.

Unless you consider the entire game itself a mindless housekeeping task, in which case why are you even playing.

Cool, but with the population decrease these things would be considered that because it would make life easier by allowing people better access. If SoD were to keep going and what not then obviously none of this would be a quality of life thing because there would be no need for it.

As an ex game developer for almost a decade.

Anything that improves your life while playing the game is a quality-of-life change that’s why we called it that.

Plus your own argument collapses in on itself really badly. Everything you just said in your examples are just examples of automating a particular process/system/action. THATS EXACTLY WHAT hes suggesting. Automating some things to make it SIGNIFICANTLY easier to play a game with a decreasing population. Plus You still have to do the dungeons/raids for reelz bud so nobodey would be getting free stuff.

To answer your second question. we play versions of classic wow because its comfortable, fun, and familiar, with people we know. how do you not understand that after massively successful 2018 classic vanilla re-luanch and even this years 2025 classic re-re-luanch??? c’mon bro dont be that clueless.

Also I hate to be the first game dev ever to break the news to you but all games are a series of pretty pointless tasks or they’re just based on real jobs or situations. ( just made significantly easier) The differences is that game devs give you a bunch of dopamine feedback loops ( or adrenaline feedback loops as like horror games or ranked pvp). Anything like cosmetics or gear rewards or gold or levels
 you name it, anything we can use to trick your brain into having fun doing these pointless tasks. We do it. Welcome to gaming.

It’s friday afternoon on Crusader Strike and there are 24 level 60 alliance online, 36 total players. It’s hard to find groups, and as a new player make a group when all of the players online are not incentivized to do the Heart of Doom turn ins. The level 60’s that are online (me included) have geared toons and enough Remnants to provide to any fresh alts we would have.

Only sharing this as its a barrier to entry for SoD at this point in its Era state.

Drooling for the higher player count atm. If Blizzard opened up FCM’s (or paid even), i would transfer over. I run a Hardmode 4 Naxx on Monday mornings, and 1-2 flex SE’s per week. I’m confident 90% of the players would transfer to Wild Growth if blizzard enabled this.

I dont think that warmode is good decision for classic, it requires at least 2 layers (for PvP players and PvE players) and also has a lot of other nuances. But what they can easely do, is cross-server LFG for dungeons and raids (that’s already done on progressive classic servers beginning from WOTLK classic), and maybe also cross-server AH.

Now that MSV has released on MoP, I am hoping for this type of QoL patch/change to be revisited on SoD. I hope the devs see these threads.

It’s as expected imo. The “classic” part of classic was gone by wotlk. I always expected that people who played sod in order to re experience vanilla would not want to take three steps backward by playing mop
