Quality of Life Patch

Population is lowering, Items are harder to get. The following needs to be done

Reals: Add to Naxxramas and SE, increase real drop rates.
Rank 10 Seals: Add in for Naxxramas
AQ and Flask Patterns: Add to Real vendor
SE Items: Add to a vendor that trades in Trophies for said items. (Cloaks, Rings, Neck, Trinkets)
Real Boxes: Cut cost by Half, remove Unique affix. Potentially increase what comes out.

At this point it’s critical for the playerbase here to have that. It’s shrinking, people still wanna do the content and all this mis handling with MoP and communication with SoD caused a massive pop decrease. This will help those still playing to keep the economy going and still keep materials flowing.

Yes to these! As someone who hosts 2x SE’s and a HM4 Naxx per week, I support these changes - maybe with the caveat that a Rank 8 Seal for Naxx would be better than 10.

I would also advocate for:

  1. Lowering the World Buff Turn-ins Cost to 1-2 commendations per buff instead of 5.
  2. Make Wild Strikes a Druid passive (not rune ability). I am bringing fresh lvl 60 Feral druids to raid who are not geared/ready, but solely because they provide Wild Strikes for melee. It is hard to find Feral druids, and it feels horrible as a melee without Wild Strikes.

I bring up the 10 specifically because of population/player loss etc.

The rune issue for Wild Strike’s given it’s such a mandatory buff is def an issue given how vital and important that is.

In regard to the WBs I do agree there, did not think about it but it def is becoming an increasing issue per se.

I would add ZG repp & dolls to vendors somehow for reals. But agree with all of this.

Bumping this. Great quality of life changes amidst SoD now being an “Era” server. Our Crusader Strike alliance raiding population on ironforge.pro shows to be just over 1k players. I would love to maintain the existing playerbase and help it grow by making raids more accessible!

I think 2 or 3 Chalices would be fair for them. Also maybe increase SE boss drops by 1 or 2 items.

What’s really interesting (funny?) is, across the board if you go by IFpro, Classic is kinda dying.

SoD: Trending Down
Era: Stable’ish
Anniversary: Stable’ish
Classic Progression (currently MoP): Trending Down ← Really surprised by this one; new expansion and the numbers didn’t “pick up” near the launch date.

I would wait to gauge MoP numbers though. The first raid tier hasn’t been released yet, so it’s not indicative of the active population. I could see the people coming to MoP not really caring about Dragon Soul or gearing in Cata the weeks leading to MoP just due to MoP gear replacing Cata gear.

But the other versions you’re spot on.

True, I’m going off my experience from Retail. Where you’d see an up-tick in Raiding as people were prepping for the expansion; getting that last AoTC or mount that was going away in the ‘before launch’ patch that introduces all the new talents but doesn’t have the level increase.

Or just tagging along in a raid because they were ‘already on, farming for their turbo boosting to professions on release day’.

Side note: Wow, they released MoP Classic a full 231 days earlier off the tail of Classic Cata than when they released the OG MoP off the tail of OG Cata; really rushing them release cycles.

The silence is so loud right now, please at least acknowledge some people sill want to play SoD. A quality of life patch and server merger isn’t too much to ask for.

It’s my favorite version of the game I’ve played (outside of wotlk). One of the only versions I’ve attained near bis on a toon and still want to go raid for the sake of raiding. It’s fun to play, vanilla isn’t fun for me anymore, retail is overwhelming, MoP isn’t appealing to me. Respect to those that want to play those but give us a chance. It’s such a well polished and well designed expansion of vanilla. Would love to see one more raid tier if done as well as SE but tbh any qiality of life updates and the ability to PvP would be amazing.

What numbers are you even looking at for MoP? There aren’t even accurate population numbers for MoP because there aren’t any raids available. If you’ve been going by Dragon Soul, that’s a little silly. Most of us haven’t cared about raiding an end-of-life expansion.

The main cities are packed, Pandaria is packed and soon, the Pandaria capitol will be full of people as most hit 90. MoP just needs a few weeks to breathe and the hype will increase.

It really doesn’t get good until the raids open and the Celestial Dungeons are added. I would also predict a lot more raid participation for Throne of Thunder. It’s the main reason why people are playing MoP to begin with.

Can we stop talking about MoP on SoD forums. Go enjoy your “booming” servers, were just trying to keep ours alive by asking for some simple adjustments.

IFpro, just looking at the entire graph. Which is all of the expansions to-date.

And as I said, I was going off my Retail experience, which saw increased raiding leading up to the release of the next expansion. Usually for the reasons I mentioned.

I’ll need to remember to look at the charts in…two weeks (??), which should include the raids from ‘week 1’ and ‘week 2’ of CMoP. Which, if I’m doing this right, would be Jul 28th to Aug 3rd and Aug 4th to Aug 10th. - Apparently people were hitting 90 in the first 48hrs of CMoP releasing. So unless Blizzard had some kind of moratorium in place, folks should have been MoP Raiding by the weekend of release.

But, it doesn’t look good, imo, when the lead up (final 2 weeks) to an expansion is showing an extremely small up-tick (~2k increase) in participation.

None of those things are “quality of life”.

I was chatting with a player in game today that just hit lvl 60. He was curious what he could do to get into end game. I directed him to work on Sanc gear and his Seal for getting into Naxx runs. And to keep an eye out for Kara runs.

He purchased a few BoEs off the AH for Sanc gear, but said he hasn’t seen any advertising over the past few days for Kara runs. He has 80 Remnants of Valor atm by getting lucky and finding a few dungeon runs the past week. But he feels kind of stuck where he can’t farm Remnants of Valor to get a Seal appropriate for Naxx runs.

He said he feels stuck due to the inactivity of the server, where you have to have been raiding in order to raid on a new character.

It would be nice to see something like Remnants of Valor become tradeable items, and not soulbound. This way Remnants can be given to new players and they can hop into content.

They are already account bound. You may be an exception to the rule and just being naive, but my suspicion is this is a way to monetize remnants and sell them.

There’s no reason to just stand around and wait to get “lucky” with dungeon runs. Anyone can and should start and organize and run their own runs.

I 100% feel him on that when i first started. The path to get into naxx runs with sanc gear for a new player needs to be addressed. For someone with alts we just mail them, I have 7 toons. For a new guildless player with little server activity its hard.

We need the server merge first and foremost, remnants for first time 60’s need to be more accessible, and scarlet gear needs to be more accessible for fresh 60’s. Getting new players who havn’t played SoD would be huge as I was once one coming in at phase 7 and now I love it.

do the repeatable quest in epl that gives 300 valor thingies

there is a repeatable quest in epl that gives 300 valor thingies.

The Heart of Doom turn ins (get quest first to be able to loot it) gives 300 Remnants of Valor each and is repeatable. These are from scourge invasions which you can also grab a few Undead Slaying pieces as well.

Also direct them to do the Scarlet Junkbox weekly so every 3 weeks (assuming they dont get into a SE) they get 1 chalice fragment.
