For the longest time I kept thinking it was me, I didn’t click right or it was my mouse or computer and then someone told me about this bug… I can’t understand how auto-looting was just fine for so many years and then bam it got trashed and stayed there.
We have resolved a bug causing transmogrified gear to sometimes be incorrectly displayed on the character select screen. On my shaman the only place its displayed correctly is the select screen. I have no idea what I will look like every log in. You people are truly clueless and incompetent. Dear Microsoft its time to clean the wow house.
It’s like my soul sighed and happy-cried a bit. Wow.
I may have actually squeeeeed when I saw:
- Adding the option to display map coordinates in the user interface.
and - Adding a back button to the Achievements tab in the user interface.

Thank you on all of this.
You know, just before I saw this post, I was musing over the development direction recently (specifically regarding the hyper-focus on the rapid content release pipeline), and I was concerned that too much focus had been put on getting content out and not fixing bugs and improving general quality of life.
Please, more of this. UI QoL fixes, bug fixes, all of it. I’d rather the game be stable with attention paid to improving our daily play than having something new (or recycled) all the time, every week.
Looks like I may be uninstalling TomTom after all of these years now. (I only ever used it for map coords and none of it’s other functions).
Ok that’s huge and 20 years in the making lol
seriously, lol, I was literally complaining about this to friends the other month, how I still need to still an addon to get coords.
I thought I’d noticed the fix to looting, but thanks for the confirmation! It’s been annoying for quite a while having to click twice in order to loot larger piles of corpses, and I don’t think I’ve had to do that recently. At least, I’m assuming that’s what the fix was for…
Also happy for the indirect clarification on what the 12.0.7 durability changes were targeted at. So it wasn’t to eliminate wear and tear from all gear like I initially thought based on the patch notes, but just weapons and shields. It hasn’t been bugged or overlooked, I just misinterpreted it!
The fact that the basic act of looting was broken should have been seen as a P0, stop-shipment level catastrophe - not an “eh, we’ll deal with it when we feel like it” mild inconvenience.
as far as i can tell, looting is still broken. the changes i saw only mentioned that auto-loot will become an account-wide setting. nothing about making it actually work properly.
edit: haha i’m real dumb and bad at words, i missed the fix!
looks frantically for hps/dps meter adjustments
According to them, the fix is already live. It’s the account-wide setting that’s upcoming!
haha, looks like i can’t read good. too much multi-tasking today. thank you! ![]()
Okay… Like how is this announcement worthy? Seriously. There’s like a handful of bug fixes and something about putting a back button on an achievement tab? I know I left out a couple things but… I’m shocked someone spent time on this. Woah. I’m seriously blown away, and not in a good way.
- Adding the option to display map coordinates in the user interface.
sniffle I wasn’t sure I’d live to see this day.
- Addressed a bug where players would occasional be dismounted when flying into
Zul’Aman from Eversong
I did have a little fun with the graveyard run from Westfall to Eversong, but thank you.
I wonder where the person with lack of brain wrinkles, whom argued with me that this was never information we were meant to have, is at now?
The fact that anyone outside of Blizzard (Plumber by Peterodox) had to fix that is humiliating.

I guess you missed this part:
-
Looting fixes: We have tracked down and fixed a sneaky bug that could cause area looting and auto-loot to sometimes fail. Please let us know if you continue to encounter this behavior.
The add on likely worked because it routed around the entire subsystem in which this “sneaky bug” lived. The add on threw the UI baby out completely, and that may be why it worked.
Blizz didn’t really have the luxury, and, clearly, the issue was something sinister, and difficult to replicate.
And the fact that it wasn’t A No 1 Stop the presses, work all night to fix this issue should not be surprising in a system that has, has always had, continues to have, a litany of issues big and small that need work and eyeball time, which is always (always) finite.
My Alt doesn’t use the add on and has not noticed any issues with looting. My main still uses the addon, mostly out of momentum than anything else nowadays. I get confused switching back and forth, since they both show up on different parts of the screen. Just not confused enough to bother switching one way or the other.
And, let’s reminisce back to early Vanilla, when we’d stay stuck looting.
- In Curse of Ula’tek, we will be adding a one-time profession knowledge reset (once per profession) to reset all spent Knowledge Points and allow players to re-assign them freely.
Can we swap professions? I want to reset all point in Herbalism, have X Knowledge Points, and then learn Mining instead with the ability to apply those X Knowledge Points.
I assume this is not an option, and I will have to wait until the next expansion to swap Professions, but this would be SWEET if implemented.
I am thankful for both these changes and for communicating them. Candidly, I think every patch should be like this. I am not optimistic that future ones will be - I feel like WoW patches tend to be dominated by adding new stuff (yay) while improving old things happens much more rarely (not yay)… but I do want this to be the start of a trend.
(Anecdotally, the Diablo 4 team has been pretty good at responding to feedback and implementing QOL changes on a regular basis; they don’t always land as expected, but they they do happen, and that feels good.)
Please let us hide the health and resource bars on character portraits
CHARACTER SELECT SCREEN MOG BUG FIX INC!
Good deal.
