[QoL Request] Unflag quest NPCs, make them all level 60 with lots of hps, or something

So you want us to run all the way to SW, turn on WM, and then run all the way back out there (hoping we don’t get ganked) to turn in t he quest. Then run all the way back to a town to turn it back off?

I was giving a suggestion, and acknowledging the risks to allow you and the other players to move on.

I think they should make quest NPCs unable to be attacked at all in non-WM.

It’s not griefing because it’s technically a PvP problem, and there are PvP solutions to PvP problems. The reason it’s a PvP problem is because attacking an opposing faction’s quest giver automatically flags you, so someone else can just as easily type /PvP and kill him.

Edit: Someone linked it later on in the thread, and I’m correcting it here. Apparently killing a quest NPC over and over and preventing people from turning something in does count as zone disruption. That’s my mistake.

Wrong. We do kill him but since he can get back to his body and wait at his body until the NPC respawns (since the NPC has a respawn timer of 5 mins or more) then he just takes the rez and one hits the NPC before we can do anything. AFter that we kill him again and then it just repeats because he is a troll and has nothing better to do than waste every ones time.

Yes, I wonder if doing things like this is in fact reportable griefing, or just use of in game abilities and mechanics done to just bother people, if clearly done to bother one, with no significant benefit, aka no rare loot.

pretty sure this is considered zone disruption. report it and the player will likely receive a suspension.

It’s not wrong. It’s still a PvP problem and falls under PvP issues. Blizzard does not view PvP related problems as griefing, which is what I was answering.

You could just reroll Horde. That’d be the smartest option by a mile.

Hey, it’s his $15 and he’s using a mechanic that is intentionally part of the game.

I see nothing wrong with what he’s doing. It annoys you, but he’s doing something Blizzard has always allowed players to do. :person_shrugging:

This.

Thick I see.

And this is why I am here asking for change from Blizzard…

Ask a friend to party-sync with you and do the quest on their shard.

incorrect, it would be classified as zone disruption. they aren’t in war mode so it wouldn’t be considered a PvP problem.

Blizzard has a long history of saying “No” when the problem is PvP-related, but shoot your shot.

I’ll be in Elwynn killing quest-givers with WM off.

I don’t recall that being there before, but it’s there now. Guess it is. Ah well, report it however possible then. Send in screenshots. Etc.

I mean, that’s pretty bad but also funny.

Nothing wrong, move along.

it’s always been in the tos ever since i started playing during tbc.

All of you could probably take him.

I was part of a flash mob once where we, as level 2-3 Tauren, chewed a lvl 85 to death.

In all my years playing this game, I’ve never once seen Blizzard do anything about quest mob killing. The only time I can recall something like that happening was back on Shadowmoon during Isle of Quel’danas dailies, a blizzard GM actually had to come out there and yell at us to stop killing one another.

that’s odd because i’ve seen plenty of threads on the old cs forums from players crying because they got banned for camping important quest npcs. maybe they were making it up for attention? it doesn’t happen a lot anymore though.

Technically speaking though it shouldn’t be possible with WM off, which honestly should have been one of the first things they thought about when introducing the horrid system.

Yes, if you are level appropriate you could turn on PvP yourself to kill them, but honestly I doubt many players even realise that function is in the game, yet alone for WM off.
Especially if you consider the people suggesting turn WM on which would actually shard them away from the offender in the first place.

Yes there is a solution, but it shouldn’t be necessary. It’s a PvP problem in game mode for people who opted out of dealing with PvP problems.
Opposing faction players and NPCs should really only be able to be killed in WM.
