instead of getting that targeting reticule you should be able to just cast an ability and have it land at the targets feet rather than have to use your mouse to target an area. This would be for both healing and DPSing.
It has felt clunky for 16 years its time to fix it.
How would this work with LOS? Being able to drop D&D for example so it splashes behind the pillar.
You’re telling me it’s easier to scan where a DH is in the world, before putting an AOE heal on them, instead of placing it exactly where you want it?
If you want to streamline it a bit, you can turn them into @cursor macros.

But also, no. I don’t believe that is an interaction.
If you double click an AOE it’ll just drop it under your action bars, where the icon is located.
It may have an illusion of under your target if you play zoomed in quite a bit though.
That was Swtor. One feature I wish Wow would copy from them. I like how in Swtor I can select a target and double click or double press an AOE key bind and it places it right on the center of my target. So much faster and easier to manage.
I think he’s one of those that get offended by mouse clickers. Unfortunately, he erroneously believed you were one of then without thinking critically for a hot second.
You obviously meant clicking with your keyboard in this sense.
But why? you can freely cast your aoe anywhere, you can pre plan , it has more versatility like this
