Q1 Earnings Call was today

I just want to see Mythic Zero added to the LFD tool. I can’t believe we have had Heroic version available to us from WotLK thru WoD and then they take it away. It’s one of the things that really pissed me off.

Lol I just don’t get why anyone would want to try to re-live something that they have already done and is a decade old at that. It’s pure nostalgia and I feel like it’s gonna get old quick. Oh, what am I saying? It’s already old!

Perhaps Ion is the one who wants to re-live vanilla. Vicariously, of course.

You want to fix WoW? I’m going to wax a little of Tigole and Furor and give Blizzard some advice such as they gave to Sony once upon a time, albeit in a much nicer way. I will also lay out a battle-plan for Blizzard on what they need to do, and no I won’t charge a consultation fee. I just want to see WoW succeed. That’s all.

With that… here’s my suggestions.

I suggest Blizzard Implement all of them that they can as quickly as they can.

  • Remove CRZ. NOW.
  • Merge Servers. NOW.
  • Add Surname functionality when you merge servers so players can retain their names.
  • Drop the price of WoW to $9.99 a month. Don’t touch that price again. Don’t even think of it.
  • Reduce the price of character services by half. Don’t touch that price ever again.
  • Reverse course on your Experience Nerfs. No one wants to replay Cata WoW.
  • Leveling Squash. 120 is now 60. Heritage Races start at level 1 as a consequence. DKs and Demon Hunters start at level 20. That’s the new rule for Hero Classes.
  • Alternate methods for players to acquire the Heritage Armor sets, including a grueling quest at Max level that takes 5 weeks + Raiding etc.
  • Never add another Glyph to this game unless you intend to give every other class at least a coeval number as well. Mages do not deserve to be the only thing that rates in the cosmetic department.
  • Demon Hunters get their third Spec.
  • Priest gets a fourth spec for Holy DPS as an apology for the evisceration you gave them by deleting the Shadow Priest and replacing it with “Cultist” Priest Spec. Holy DPS plays like Whitemane from Heroes of the Storm. Voidform is dead. It won’t be back. Shadowform is Voidform now. MoP / WoD style play is the name of the game.
  • Make gear matter again. By this I mean, if you keep the current gearing method that is fine. I am completely alright with players gearing up slowly with World Content. That is good. That is well done. Tune mobs to die fairely easily to World Quest geared characters. But make a Mythic Geared character a GOD by comparison.
  • Make Raid Drops more meaningful. By this I mean, make it so LFR gear is always 15-30 Ilevel points above the current crop of World-Gear. So your raid gear gets stronger every patch? Who gives a crap. Better rewards can be found in X Patch area. This means Raid gear remains an achievement that is relevant.
  • If in 8.1 You get a 400 piece from Uldir, then the world quest equivalent should be 375. The Heroic Version should be 435 and Mythic being 475. Why? It’s Mythic man. In 8.2 the world quest gear is now 400. So your Uldir item is buffed to… 425 (Normal) 460 (Heroic) and 500 (Mythic).
  • The difficulty of Mythic Azshara requires you to have at least 480, so you should probably be alright unless you stand in first. Gear upgrades in Azshara will be bound to the same rules. World Quest rewards do not “grow” with the expansion. They can be replaced.
  • While your at it. Kill that damned Casino reel loot system. Master Loot restored for Guild runs. (Oh wow. I just made Guilds relevant again.).
  • Token System for Loot is altered. 1 seal per week. 5000 Gold. Using the Seal gives you a item automatically from the boss it’s used on. System is intuitive. So if you have Kaz’s Heart of Azerat. You will not get another Heart of Azerat.
  • Speaking of. Classic? Great. Happy for people that miss it. However anything you would unlock as a Transmog in Classic? Your retail account can transmog now. You know why? Because you did the dirty task the same way someone else did, and with the same skills and talents. You earned it. Blizzard respects your time played and won’t crap on it.
  • Additionally, The Caverns of Time has a new portal. You can now use it to explore and do at least the older quests from Classic Azeroth as it was before Cataclysm eviscerated the game and began it’s decline. You can return to the present with a Caverns of Time Portal. But you will not receive transmogs or quest item rewards. See the next line for the reason.
  • Naxxramas (60) / Zul’Gerub (20) will not be available on Live Retail Servers. Neither will Benediction or the old Class Quests. (Lets be honest. That’s what you guys really want, and we wouldn’t mind, but it would crap on the people who already achieved it. So the compromise is this. You can roll a character on the Classic Server, even transfer that character to live, and unlock Transmogs. But we need you to use the original skills and talents. It’s called fairness.)
  • New Class Quests.
  • All races can choose their faction now. Blood Elves have Blue Eyes but call themselves Blood Elves (Just take this compromise, roll Alliance and change your TRP. Stop with the threads!)
  • New Cosmetic Tab for all existing spells. You can become a “Holy Shadow Priest” (See T&E’s idea and implement it right now. Also look at City of Heroes systems for more inspiration.)
  • Player Housing: Added in the vein of FFXIV’s systems. New Continents = New Plots of land.
  • Guild Halls: Instanced bases like CoH’s Supergroup Bases.
  • New Battlegrounds based around players being mercenaries and picking their side.
  • Arenas remain playable but not a priority.
  • Epic Battlegrounds are a priority.
  • Class Fun / Design is a Priority.
  • Never allow the Zandalari / Kul’tiran debacle to happen again. If a race is advertised. You can play it on DAY ONE. No time sinks or reps. That goes only for new content. Not content already promised.
  • Prepatch the story on new races. Don’t time-sink ever again. Release what you intend.
  • Strip characters of their plot armor. If Sylvanas messes up, Sylvanas pays up. Same for Nathanos and any other character.
  • Be more coherent on the story, and drop breadcrumbs so people can have a idea where you are going with this. Otherwise people assume the worst. It’s alright if you want a surprise. But save the twists for cutscenes.
  • Make Story Campaigns that work the same way FFXIV does it now. Expand on those every 21 days with new stuff. You don’t need Voice Acting for those bits, just quality writing.
  • Make FATE style World Bosses / World encounters that players can hunt and kill for exp or rare items. This breaks the linearity of experience gain in the open world.
  • End the war on flight. Keep Pathfinder, but make it all attainable by a dedicated player after 1 month. IE: If someone plays non-stop for a month, they earned it. Give the insane one their due.
  • There’s a lot more I could go into but the big ones…
  • Stop with the Time-Gating.
  • Stop favoring Mages with Glyphs and ease of travel. Give every class the ability to learn to Teleport and Portal. Call it a different name, but give all classes the same bloody functionality for travel.
  • You say you design a game you want to play? I love you guys, but if the OP is accurate, then at the rate your going, you’ll be the ONLY one’s playing it pretty soon. That’ll be fun I guess. Maybe.

Sorry if this seems brusque or blunt Blizzard. I genuinely love you, but enough is enough. Your killing WoW, and I am sure it’s because someone thought “souring the milk” would be wise means to prep for a WoW 2. Disregard that sort of thinking.

No one who is still here would endure the massive number of things your remaining base has, and be stupid enough to start from scratch and invest another 15 years in a new game. We will all sooner walk, and you’ll be asking “Positron 2.0” why this happened.

That’s a really big list and I don’t agree with all of it but it is innnovative to say the least. It’s exactly what they need imo is just a big overhaul to multiple systems

They tried to hard to copy Magic the gathering, and inherited its biggest flaw.

Besides having the potential of making a huge amount of money, especially in China, the addition / major switch to mobile gaming is required by Blizzard’s commitment to their stockholders. But yah, I won’t play them.

The future growth in the gaming market is with mobile games and cloud gaming.

I was vincemcmahon.gifing everything 'till here. Not a fan of master looter.

Hell no. Faction identity should be improved and fixed, not digressed and destroyed further. Blizzard’s always stood by faction and racial identity until lately. Panda’s were also a huge flop that nobody plays, so nobody cares about “BUT MUH PANDAS CAN BE BOTH!”

Right? Like Malfurion should be dead right now.

Pretty much everything I agree with though.

I like a lot of this persons’ ideas.

My opinion only differs on a few things.
-I would bump up the gear from older raids by +10, the gear should be good but it should not turn you into a god.
-I would reduce the number of raid difficulties down to 3; lfr, normal, and heroic.
-I would nerf titanforging, gear should only tf up to 10 item levels lower than normal, and also, raid/m+ gear should only wf up by 5 item levels.

Also I really don’t like this pathfinder system. In my humble opinion I think:
-Flight should be purchasable at max level, I would be ok with reduced movement speed since zones are smaller now.
-Pathfinder should just provide increased flight speed and free licenses to alts.
-in content like WoD where the zones are tiny 60%/150% flight speed would have been fine.
-When a expansion becomes legacy content people should be able to purchase flight at the minimum level of that expansion. (new players are really put off by having to grind pathfinder in older content).

I really wish the Devs would care about this game a tad more.
Bfa could have been pretty nice /sigh

Hell no. Faction identity should be improved and fixed, not digressed and destroyed further. Blizzard’s always stood by faction and racial identity until lately.

Let me try to break down a little more in depth what I mean when I say: “Factions are dead. You choose your faction.” By this I mean we won’t have kum’bayah. This is after all Warcraft, not Peacecraft (though the Gundam called Epyon was deadly in the hands of a Peacecraft. ).

Basically every race is a part of their own Faction. But factions do not dictate what your political alignment is. By this I mean, you start out as a Forsaken in your case Drougen.

This means to all other races in the world you are considered to be a Forsaken, and should be treated like a Forsaken. Ergo, you are hostile to living humans, and they are hostile to you. Because you are dead and they are not.

However. If you truly dislike Sylvanas, you can undertake trials and quests in the game that will eventually result in you becoming accepted by Stormwind and Humanity as a whole, while at the same time pissing Sylvanas and Nathanos off in a fashion not unlike that of Booty Bay / Bloodsail Buccaneer Rep.

Eventually? Calia Menethil sends you a letter and you are given a chance to become a Lightforged Undead like her. For pursuing this story arc? You can now create Forsaken that are Lightforged (unlocking character customizations sort of like the Night Warrior Eyes), and when you roll Lightforged Drougen 2.0 as a new toon, you automatically start friendly to Calia and Stormwind. But… you are hated by Ser Nathanos.

But the same can apply in reverse where you turn from the Light and eventually… Sylvanas allows you (post blighting) into Undercity as a part of the Forsaken. And Calia is mad as a hatter with you.

Each Race would be able to join guilds as Guilds would be independent collectives that the Guild Master picks a side (for PVP pairings sake), and if the coin is better on the other side… they can change their stripes as true mercenaries.

The important thing to remember here is that even though all races could join a singular guild to do raids and dungeons… not all guildies could go to the same racial cities for obvious reasons unless they really worked on their reputations. Racial Cities would have racially themed transmogs, spell animations, hairstyles and sub-races (like Undead High Elves and Blight themed magic for certain classes) that you could unlock by being their ally.

Some races would overlap intuitively due to the Lore (which would be the basis for these match ups), so you might see a similar problem if a Worgen wanted to aid Sylvanas, or a Night Elf.

Honestly one of my big issues with the story for BFA is that it’s a “No winner” scenario. Everyone hates Undead right now, so there would have to be some kind of case where the Forsaken Story came to a place where they managed to become a little less than hated by everyone.

The Pandaren are omitted because Chen, and Ji are busy dealing with a hangover. Ji said something about being tired of getting yelled at for calling Aysa and other Pandaren ladies cute. Sorry.

Personally think this is a dumb idea. The game is literally founded on horde vs. alliance.

Why wouldn’t they? That’s literally the point of factions.

At this point why not just have one mega faction? It would allow the game to develop and articulate in better manners than mixing and keeping two factions separate.

Because It’s bad writing. Blizzard’s never been good at fleshing out details of their lore. Both sides have wins and losses, but there’s no definitive one side loses and one side wins because it wouldn’t be fair.

TBH though alliance getting free heroic raiding gear and un-necessary buffs for turning WM on because they cried hard enough was winning in my eyes.

You hate undead* Fixed that for you.

Nobody hates forsaken, though. SOME people disagree with Sylvanas because of piss poor writing. :man_shrugging:

You hate undead* Fixed that for you.

Except I play Undead characters. Huh… That’s odd. Anyone got a coupon to the therapist I can borrow? I might have to get the word “Damaged” tattooed on my forehead at the rate I’m going.

Seems fine. They beat expectations. Now the real question is the next quarterly call. See if the earning call mentions the 8.2 patch.

Which handful of people are speaking for millions now?

Seems to be the trend.

“Four bi non gendered trans gamers from mid southern west bum eff Wisconsin made a statement today and they are really insulted by mega corporations non inclusion of bi non gendered trans gamers from mid southern west bum eff Wisconsin. Mega corporation is now going to create a position for bi non gendered trans gamers from mid southern west bum eff Wisconsin in fears that they could lose quadrillions of dollars from this special interest group that represents .00000001 percent of the population.”

TLDR: The gaming industry is fine. Stop putting so much weight on peoples opinions simply because they have a large audience.

Edit: Thank GOD chicken little didn’t have a You Tube channel.

OMG, imagine if Orson Wells had one?

I hope they enjoy the bleeding MAU while they continue to work on stupid stuff like mobile games.

Hopefully the Chinese phone market rejects their knockoff diablo phone game.

I’m not just pulling stuff out of a hat. Social media is definitely responsible for a lot of it tbh. Word spreads really quick about the gaming industry when it comes to this kind of stuff, and it can completely kill game releases

If you made that the little mammoth mount I’ve been wanting since Wrath I would probably do it. Does that make me a bad Gnome?

:cookie:

I’m not saying you can’t be right.

I’m just saying, grain of salt.

I’ve been “doing this” (video games) a long time and I’ve heard all the Doomsayers.

rarely are they right.

Again, not to say the info you are providing should be ignored, maybe it just doesn’t weigh as much as you think. All info is good info. Some gets attention, some goes in the toilet. But it should all be gathered and analyzed.

I am right. It’s not a debate. Pay 2 win in video games and scams are heavily frowned upon. The word will get out fast and spread. Reputations will be tarnished and sales will plummet. Players can also detect when devs kind of rush things out unfinished or don’t put much heart and soul into a video game. It gets plastered on reviews, people talk on forums, social media etc. it spreads like wildfire

Oh ok, I was giving you the benefit of the doubt but now I see you’re a lunatic.

I had no idea you knew the future.

My bad, but you knew that.

By the way, WOW was supposed to be dead 14 years ago, better get a new crystal ball.

And using craptastic failure games as proof that games fail is like saying when it rains the ground gets wet, duh.
