been playing probably >1000 points higher than you’ll ever be since before addons even existed
i don’t disagree that weakauras are awful for the game but i think you’re just a clueless newplayer that’s probably played maybe 2 expansions most of which in random battlegrounds
No. Shadowlands had high participation due to people who pve’d knowing they could get gear from pvp. I honestly couldn’t give you examples outside of trinkets and possibly weps?
I recall trying to get back into raiding during castle nathria and 1800 being a req for melee dps.
Let me be clear - I think the gearing system for pvp’rs (not familiar at all with pve) is the best it’s been since WoD and it’s not even close. DF is fantastic. I’m only wanting there to be more people queuing, and having carry-over for pvp to pve can aid in this.
BFA was the worst gearing has ever been. Ever. I still preferred that over templates, but I’m not advocating for anything BFA.
Yeah but it wasn’t healthy. And Blizzard has now been very clear that they are trying to move away from having the 3 Pillars of content overlap with each other.
As great as it sounds from an RPG standpoint, it doesn’t feel good to need to pvp to be competitive in pve, and vice versa.
Edit: there’s a poll in GD rn about what’s harder–pvp or pve. The majority vote is PvP, with PvE players (espscially mythic+) alluding to how unattractive PvP is to them due to the difficulty and barrier for entry. Making PvP mandatory to optimize your performance in PvE would not be a smart move for Blizzard to make at the moment.
My favorite part of shadowlands was farming conquest to farm to X rating to farm honor cap to upgrade gear to push to X2 rating to farm honor cap to farm X3 rating…
Upgrade system was an abomination.
Also do you guys not remember conduits, covenants, soulbinds?
It really wasn’t that bad if you went into the season on the char. It became a problem if you came back late and/or played alts, which I think people often do a mixture of.
Kind of, but what a lot of people on this forum forget is 2100 isn’t easy for everyone either (myself included), so a ton of people were perpetually behind gearwise too, it wasn’t just the grind.
i love mop but im not so blind that I dont recognize it had a ton of issues especially early on with stuff like triple beast master hunters. It got better as the expansion went on and s15 mop imo is still one of the best seasons of WoW PvP history.
Cata objectively started out really good and the introduction of RBGs, at the time, was very nice. As time went on PvE gear started to become to grossly overpowered especially legendaries which choked out diversity a lot. Lock Rsham X was basically the meta for 90% of comps and RBGs became a cunning of the cruel tarcegosa PvE fest.
I think if they ever make MoP classic I 100% would NOT play it because as with most things in WoW i dont think it has aged well and is best left for memories.
Also you listed Wotlk twice. What made you like WoD?
3-4, and originally it was 6-7 in S1 and early S2. When you’re already hitting the limits of your skill, that kind of gap was noticeable, especially if we’re talk about two players who are behind and two who aren’t. It definitely added up and I always noticed the power spike when I rolled over a bracket and upgraded all my stuff.
