But there’s not even a cup involved

Why is this only once a year?

Same for the Outland cup. In fact, I don’t even think the Outland cup shows on the calendar yet-- so it’ll me MORE than a year!

I understand why things like Halloween or Winter Veil are once a year. It’s literally a yearly, seasonal event.

This races should be much more frequent. They don’t have to be every month, but once a year is far too limited.

Quarterly?

Are there going to be no vendors in Dornogal?

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if this was directly cut and pasted from last years version, in which case probably not.

On the one hand, it makes sense that since these races originated on the Dragon Isles, this stuff would all be based in Valdrakken.

But on the other hand, these dragons did come over to Khaz Algar to set up more races for us, so it’d make just as much sense for them to bring the vendors over as well…

Same with the Davis Cup and the Ryder Cup. They only come once a year as well.
And the America’s Cup is only once every four years.

This would be fun to play again, if servers were up.

lol please don’t compare rl sports events with digital ones.

You’re describing humans playing sports, that have to travel to actual, physical destinations, often thousands of miles apart. There are so many real world/ real life factors that go in to this, it’s not even worth my time to list them all. If you’re making this argument, you’re not being serious.

For the Dragon races … we just … log in. Absolutely NONE of those factors matter.

There is no reason for these to be yearly and not, as I suggested, something more reasonable like quarterly. Honestly, if you put them mid-month to could be part of an “always something to do” when considering things like the Darkmoon Fair.

There is no reason for these to be yearly.

On that note, I’m not sure if these race events are even on a ‘schedule’. They seem like something that Blizz just throws in whenever they feel like the game needs an extra event, especially as they’re likely to keep adding more for other expansions that don’t have them yet.

As I said, the fact the Outland Cup isn’t even on the calendar seems to reinforce your point.

Like… I’m trying to make a point about how absurd it is that these are yearly, when it’s been MORE than year for the Kalimdor/EK races, and it will be MORE than a year since Outland … and it’s not even scheduled yet!

There is no reason for this.

Make them quarterly.

And holidays only come once a year, too.

I never quite understood why people don’t get the fact that these are modeled after real life events and that it’s also in our own best interest and game design to spread them out across a year. Otherwise, people stop caring about them and get tired of them, etc.

All of that aside… I shall once again attempt these, laugh at my utter failure and have fun doing it.

Why drop this during a patch. Wouldn’t it be smarter to release it after the content dries up

I always used the smallest mount I had to do these races I just find it a lot easier that way.

Hope there are new things to collect.

I’m welcom driving in this race.

I will say, with how infrequently these are scheduled, I do somewhat regret that the only one I’ve participated in so far has been the Northrend one. My takeaway is that I should definitely not sleep on these things when they’re available because who knows when they’ll be coming back.

Anything new or different? Or can I skip it?

I understand that however one thing that adds more importance to these cup events is the fact that they do NOT appear continually throughout the year.
