In Season of Discovery, it’s been possible for players to take their Tier 2 items and exchange them for an item with Tier 2 stats and Tier 1 set bonuses. Previously, it wasn’t possible to make this exchange back, if desired.
Now it is. With a hotfix that just went live, players can go into Blackwing Lair and change any of those Tier 2 items with Tier 1 set bonuses back into the Tier 2 item with Tier 2 set bonuses.
Please note: If you’ve been inside BWL since before the hotfix, you may need to soft reset the instance to have the vendor update.
That needs to be baked into something outside of gear with how necessary it is. Twisting needs to be a core part for rets just as lion was added as a book.
Will the enchant stay? I haven’t tested this new change, but in a video with someone from the team mentioning this possible upcoming change, it sounds like the enchant would be removed if you have one on there (someone can confirm if they already tested it live if this is the case still).
Also mentioned in the video, that it sounds like if you had a tank core forged version, if you do the swap, it sounds like you’d get the relevant tank draconic version and not be able to choose a dps or heal version if those were available for your class to pick from (so the same where a dps core forged being switched to a dps draconic, and the same for a heal to heal type). Once again, I haven’t tested if the live change still holds these restrictions, someone can reply if it’s the case.
Looks like you’ll get your wish in the upcoming patch.
A new set of shoulder enchants that allows you to utilize a single extra set bonus effect drawing from those found on sets in Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, Temple of Ahn’Qiraj, Ruins of Ahn’Qiraj, and Zul’Gurub.
