The honor system, as flawed as it is, provides a goal for players. Even with pool parties, hitting rank 14 is a good achievement for many and isn’t easy.
Obviously the honor system as it is is not ideal, but it’s the system we have, and pool parties eased the pain of a bad system. Now the bad system becomes worse. Advocating for an entirely new system in Classic WoW is a farfetched dream that will never happen, so the best we can do is ease the burden of a bad system. Blizzard stamped that out, hence why people aren’t happy.
So much for #nochanges. You’re so concerned with the honor system in classic but are too short sighted to realize that even the original developers recognized it was flawed but waited until The Burning Crusade to remove it. All the while people continue to trivialize the raids with world buffs. #Nochanges was #Changed very early on so I’m not surprised by anything you do.
I really hope Blizzard realizes how bad a philosophy “No-changes” was. It’s also a really bad look making a fix this late into the game that serves to hurt casuals more than anyone.
How about you completely dump “No-changes” (you almost have already) and adjust the honor system to bring the brackets back up to the average across servers that was obtained with pool partying?
They hide this post, but it’s true. They are acting maliciously towards their PvP rankers with this “fix,” essentially telling them that “we don’t like you being able to rank up and have a life.”
Blizzard, you’ve already changed Classic from Vanilla several times over. If you’re going to take away the one thing that made ranking bearable for people who don’t eat, drink, and breathe WoW, fix the damn system.
But I play vanilla for pvp. Other people play vanilla for pvp. Some people play vanilla because they enjoy feeling like a god with WBs in raid. I don’t want a TBC pvp system in Classic WoW and I’m sure the majority shares the sentiment of waiting for TBC. If I wanted a new game I’d play retail.
This is actually one of the dumbest changes ever. The current PVP system (not including the pool parties) is one of the most toxic and cancerous systems in a video game and promotes an extremely unhealthy lifestyle. Back in original vanilla you basically had people sharing accounts and playing 24/7 in order to get R14. The pool parties and organized PVP brackets are an attempt to prevent that behavior and also create a way for players to actually achieve the goals. Without Pool Parties, its going to increase the degenerate gameplay and toxic atmosphere.
